Default 1993 Mustang GX 001

This is an all original dealer prepared car. Built by John Bleakley Ford in Lithia Springs Georgia and completely prepared to be a Saleen killer. This is number one of four cars built before Ford asked them to cease production. It has a host of Ford Motorsport off road race components such as K302 big valve aluminum high flow and o-ringed heads, B303 roller cam, GT40 intake, 30 pound injectors, long tube headers, and Paxton supercharger. A full Saleen suspension and body kit as well as 4 wheel disc brakes to round out the package. Has well over 400 horses and handling to boot. What a ride! Only 8k original miles, all original paperwork, widow sticker, and one original owner.

I wish Saleen had produced a Reef Blue model.

That thing is cool. I'm suprised Saleen didn't get upset about the car being in direct competition with them.

There was alot of mustang "tuner" in comp with Saleen

Steeda Mustang, Kenny Brown OUTLAW Mustangs, The SAAC MK1 and alot of dealerships that offered performance mustangs back then

John Bleakley Ford was a big time Saleen dealer that sold a bunch of low numbered and unique Saleen cars back in the late eighties through the mid nineties, this is a very neat fox body.

I think GX Number 3 was repainted in the 1996 Mustang Tangerine Orange hue with black stripes. Featured in Mustang Monthly years and years ago.

Wow! I did not know shelby made a fox body! Between the two I would definitely pick the more potent, cheaper Kenny Brown Mustang. I'm liking the GX!

Shelby sued SAAC years later. Similar to SOEC's relationship with Saleen Inc.

On second thought, I won't ask.
The SAAC Car Company, an offshoot of the Shelby American Automobile Club. In 1991, Ken Eber, the SAAC national director, worked with David Wagner of Ford to create a modern interpretation of the legendary Shelby 350. The project was approved by Carol Shelby but the cars could not carry his name since Shelby was obligated to Chrysler, producing performance Dodge Chargers, Omnis and even Dakotas!

Like the Shelby 350, every aspect of the SAAC Mustang was worked over. The main ingredient was a new 302, with GT40 style intakes, large bore exhaust headers and a free-flow Borla Exhaust. Chassis improvements included Koni shocks and struts, high compression springs, rear disc brakes, Traction-Lok differential and a roll bar.

Each SAAC was assembled individually and by hand. The team was very flexible and any bolt on parts could be ordered for the right price. Cars ordered with the full set of standard options where sold as SAAC Snakes.

Eventually SAAC stopped producing cars when Ford released their Mustang Cobra and the all new Mustang was slated for release in 1994. Producing a hand built, limited edition car was a challenge, but an impressive 65 cars were completed. Special models included 17 convertibles, one unique 'R' model having 450 bhp.

Default 03'gx

To whom it may concern. If you are wondering about the GX's, I have some answers. I purchased the #03 Model from John Bleakley Ford brand new in 1993. I wish I still had the car. It was originally a white LX hatchback with gray interior. Originally the car was equipped with full Saleen suspension, GT40 intake and heads, Paxton Supercharger, Saleen wheels. 2pt roll bar. 373 gear, and the badging from John Bleakley Ford in Georgia. original purchase price was around 50k. You are correct in understanding that there were only 4 cars built. As far as Ford asking the dealer to stop making them, I have no idea. Just like everyone else that buys a mustang, I couldnt leave the car alone. I turned it over to a friend of mine and he did the following. He replaced the heads with TFS and performed a stage 5 job on them. Installed 52lb injectors. Some kind of massive fuel pump. 9"rear end with 430 gears. Moser rear axles. Lunati custom ground cam, and a vortec r trim supercharger. From what I understand, the supercharger was designed to deliver 17psi of boost, but due to the stage 5 upgrade on the heads, we were only getting 7psi out of it. It also had a tremec 3550 transmission. And believe it or not, the entire bottom end was completely stock. Stock Crank, rods, and pistons. Yep. And the car ran on pump gas. 93 octane. On the dyno it pulled 750+ HP and the torque would not even register. Keep in mind that this was in 1995 sometime. There were no crazy turbo cars out there yet and the retarded import scene was just starting to take off. The fastest it ever ran at the track was a 10.30 and that was with a broken rear axle after shifting into 4th gear. The car pretty much coasted across the finish line. That was a Reynolds Drag strip in GA. We never raced the car after that. With a automatic trans, the car probably would have run low to mid 9's. Ive actually had people till me it would have run high 8's. I really have no idea. Again, this is in 1995. It would carry the front wheels past the 60ft mark. All on pump gas and stock bottom end. Unfortunately, I fell on hard times and sold the car to my friend who built it. There is a story that I heard, but I dont know if it is true or not. This is how I heard it. He (a retired Henry County Police Offecer) took the car out on I675 around 2-3am and had the car clocked by another officer at 200mph. Like I said, I dont know if that ist true or not. I do know this, you could do a burn out by dumping the clutch at a complete stand still in 4t gear. And it didnt matter how fast you were going on the highway, it would break loose. I had a City of Morrow cop pull up next to me on I75 between Southlake and Stockbridge and ask me to hit it one time. He caught up with me in Stockbride. I have no idea how fast I went in the car. The car was untouchable back in its day. Oh, I forgot, it had 3" exhaust with single chamber flowmaster. It was ungodly loud. You could hear it over a mile away. Not bad for a car that was built 20yrs ago. I really miss it, But its nice to reminese about it with friends who knew about the car. My friend sold it later on to someone else. Dont know what happend to it after that. The car was featured in two different magazines when I had it. Mustang Monthly and MMFF. I had the car painted at Jodeco Autobody in Stockbridge Ga. And you are correct. It was painted the Ford Tangerine Orange with Black racing stripes. It was a really cool car and will give me some great stories to tell my grandkids someday. I hope this was helpful.

Takes balls to modify a 50K dollar Mustang. Thanks for telling us about it. It sounds like an amazing fox.
