Q: Saleen rear exhaust setup?
Hey guys, I had my car up in the air and noticed the magnaflows had like a hole or even a slot in them and was wondering if its possible to weld in a new muffler set?

Did the muffler case rip where the hanger is welded?
Yes. People have replaced their mufflers with aftermarket units. |

No, but now you have me second guessing myself... I'll see if I can work on getting a picture of it while I'm at work tomorrow.
I would like to keep the center setup for sure |

Both of the hangers on my driver's side muffler tore off; leaving holes in the muffler. I have an 06 with the polished magnaflows. Welding the hangers to the body of the muffler was a poor design that I believe was rectified in later S197 center exhausts. I have done a temporary fix on mine for now.

Your hanger ripped off, and is gone. It has even worked out of the mount bushing.

That explains the slight banging sound I have lol. Hmmm thats really odd to have happen. Can a competent exhaust shop resolve this if I add diff mufflers?

I would think so. I would even think that they could weld a patch to the existing muffler.
