Default Saleen HID re-enters production

I just got off the phone with someone at Saleen and ordered a new Saleen HID set! This is only possible because Steve was reunited with the Saleen brand and are already reproducing replacement parts! I can't believe it is happening so quickly. I think this is a sign for GREAT things to come for all of us owners! The future looks bright

Yes it does! It will be about 2-4 weeks before they receive them but will be worth the wait.

IMO, the Saleen HID's are aesthetically pleasing and add a High-End look to the 05-09 Saleen's (so does the Ford OEM HID kit). Here is the visual difference between the Saleen HID unit, Ford HID unit and a Ford stock unit.

Saleen OEM HID:

What does that cost? I just purchased a HID headlight upgrade on Ebay for 2005 Mustangs for $80 and free shipping. Pure White 6000K units. I have these on my Dodge Ram SRT-10 Headlights and Fog lights & I love them.

Their kit, much like the Ford OEM kit (the exact same as the Steeda HID kit), is a complete headlight assembly that is made by Sylvania to use HID bulbs. HID's produce a TON of light and if not used correctly, either in a projector style headlight assembly or in the Saleen/Ford will produce a lot of glare! If you notice you are getting blinded by the glare of someone using HID's then they are most likely illegal. Both the Saleen and the Ford assembly has a piece that reflects the glare back so it doesn't blind on coming traffic. Plus you have FUNCTIONING brights! HID kits that say they have functional brights don't do anything, they are just there to pass DOT standards. I have had just about every HID kit, the cheap ones, the expensive ones, the bi-xenon HID bulbs, and the actuated bulbs and believe me when I say I ****ed off more people then immaginable.

I would call back and double check. That's not going to happen, esp that quickly. Sorry, trust me I wish it was that easy. I don't know who told you that, but I think there was a bit of confusion or misunderstanding with that.

Thank you
Jess

I just called them again and was told 4-6 weeks before they get them in? Maybe you can clarify this with someone Jess. You are much more connected than some of us.

$899.99. The Steeda kit is priced the same. The first HID kit I ever bought was on eBay and they were ok. The bulbs barely fit and the ballasts lasted about 3 months and blew. The next kit I had were DDM and are the only "kit" I would buy for factory headlight assembly's. Becareful, those "kits" get soooooo hot that they left burn marks in the headlight assembly's I had them in.

Scott, with all the changes...I can honestly tell you unless you heard that from Sean or Jess...its incorrect information.

Question

Is there someone that could confirm me what kind of bulb is used with the HID Saleen kit...?? I've never had two times the same response...
Or Boostin could say it to me when he received his kit...?
Thx

This is what is used, I just did it and spent about 6-8 months researching and talking with Sylvania.

I just bought a new bulb for mine. You need D1S from sylvania, the original bulb that came with D1S bulb number 66043 (sticker on back of bulb had this number), sylvania has discontinued this bulb and the replacement is D1S bulb number 66144.
My local Autozone now carry these in stock.

Note: this is for my 2007 Saleen.

$1600 is way too rich for my blood, thanks though. I'll keep an eye on them to be reduced.

I agree. I think the price reflects the fact that they are not available. Someone will want them bad enough.

It would be nice to find out who the original supplier was. I wonder if a group-buy would be a possibility.

Try searching the national craigslist site. I was able to purchase some that way a few years ago.
