Well This is my first post but there will be many more to follow - I picked up 99-253 two months ago at the Mecum Auto Auction in Dallas. And let me say this - she is bad shape. I do not know who owned this car before me but I would like to have a chat with them on car care and general maintenance.

I digress - I drove her home from Dallas and she runs straight - but pretty sure the front end was in some sort of collision. I am in the middle of tear down right now. Started off with new front struts and bushings. But once underneath it was obvious there is much work to be done. In the past two weeks have taken off the front bumper (not a real Saleen part), dropped out the entire front end including the radiator and inter-coolers. Will be needing to order many many parts. I guess my first question is -

When ordering replacement parts do you guys do it for a 99 GT or a 00 Cobra? Right our the the gate the CCRM was unplugged - and when I plugged it in i realized why - the motor continued to run until it burned out. Where would I find a replacement wire harness for this piece? I have searched with no luck; it the big 16 pin one on the passenger side behind the radiator fan ..... more to come with pics .. but I am still Happy I have her .. she just needs some love... :)

Using a 1999 Mustang GT for identification would assist with some replacement parts. Most S281 models were GT based, very few were Cobra based.

Your car?

Maybe visit a "U-Pull" yard and look for a New Edge Mustang to grab a solid connector from.

Welcome to the site...lots of info here. Sweet ride as I am partial to black...definitely worth the attention to bring her back. Post pics of your progress and describe your efforts...I'd read all about it for sure and I am sure others would appreciate it. Cheers on the win bringin' her home.
