Default Q: Series VI "thru" style strut brace?

I have seen a few pics of the strut brace that passes through the Series VI supercharger. Interesting. Who makes this "thru SC" style of strut brace and are there several vendors or choices who make this style?

Attached is a pic of one of them.

This brace was offered through Chicane Sport Tuning.

Correct, Chicane was the original manufacturer. A new vendor was never sought out of respect. It has not been remade by Saleen.

We now manufacture this brace. It is in stock here now and soon will be in stock at many of your favorite Mustang parts vendors (if not already). Please give us a call if you would like to purchase one.

We just had some photos taken for the occasion.

This is not correct. In fact I am now the second (and exclusive) vendor of the bar since Joe's passing. Any you see on the market at this time (that isn't old stock) is purchased through my company here. it has been this way for 11 months but i am now just starting to really put them out there and fill vendors orders. They are good in stock here.

That is awesome news! I think everyone needs one of these. What is the starting price of these? Same as before?

I wish I could get the battery relocation kit Chicane made. :(

Default Mustang Brace

Well, that inquiry brought out the information that a "through" the SC is again available. Nice!

I have thought about having a similar one made that would be carbon fiber if there was enough interest.

If you made one out of carbon fiber, my thoughts are that it would crack. How would you keep it from doing that?

Jason check your email. I sent Kim an update that i asked to forward to you just last week regarding the saleen braces. Or give me an email and I will resend to you.

Updated MSRP of the bar will be $419.00 thanks to rising costs of manufacturing and materials. facts is 2 1/2 years ago when Joe had them they were $349.00 and we just couldn't hold that price point, think about how much everything has risen in the past few years. If interest was greater on thebar we could manufacture 100 at a time vs 20 at a time and hold that price but with the amount of guys modifying these Saleens less and less by the day it seems we just can't justify that kind of quantity at once.

The bars are available through us as well as 281. Brenspeed will also have stock within the week. We also have a few more deals in the works with other Mustang parts dealers.

It may also be worth noting we have limited supply of joes old carbon GT500 bar which we will continue on with. That brace fits 05-11 Mustang GT's and 07-09 GT500's. we have them listed on ebay. They are gorgeous pieces.

I have the chicane strut brace however my motor is lowered so the fitment is very tight any chance there is a different set of mounting brackets for those of us with lowered motors?

The brace is designed to be used with stock motor mounts. I am sorry but we don't offer an alternative set of brackets for people with lowered motors. We just haven't had enough people ask for it to be feasible to make an alternative set.

Default Series VI SC Strut brace

This is an older topic about strut braces for the Saleen cars with the Series VI SC. I looked at what was available for the strut brace for the Series VI SC and it appeared to be limited to the MSRP $419 bar which was essentially the same as the old "Chicane" bar.

I have made my own strut bars for some older BMWs I have owned when I didn't like the choices available. So I made my own for my 2007 Saleen. I checked the clearances with "Playdough" at the track and all appeared good.

I think the straight strut bar bar is better designed to take the lateral forces and is therefore superior to the other shaped bars for engineering reasons. I will have the bar powdercoated at a later date. I always double bolt the connections so there is no chance for any pivot due to the lateral forces.

Yeah that's a bummer. You guys with the Saleen Chicane STB are lucky. I love the Supershaker so that's a minor detail I can live without.

Here's one we built for Kendogs "Special Ops" Military tribute car. Naturally it's a bit overkill, but it fits with the theme amazingly well and holds all of the custom fluid tanks. Once everything is in place it looks awesome!

Have you done a group buy on this site? I'm sure if you offer 10 sets at your wholesale vendor price they would get sold

Simple, you unbolt the brace and the radiator comes out. The brace holds and supports the radiator as well.

I'm not really sure. But it looks like I need to come down maybe 1/4 of an inch.

If you have a lowered k-member, or lowered motor mounts the usual drop is .5". If anyone is interested, we can reconfigure your mounts to adapt to the lowered engine.

Yes, we would modify your brackets. As far as cost goes, it would be time and materials which I cannot see being that costly, but would have to have you send your brackets and evaluate exactly what needs to be done to adapt.

No, that is why I mentioned we need to evaluate what changes need to be made to adapt. We modify things in our fabrication shop all the time, this is no chore.

Tbrock, I might have something for us.

I took the original design and used a less degree of angle. It looks like it was 20 degrees and I went 10 degrees. It should lower the bar by .343.

Of coarse I am designing a new bracket to hold the reservoir.

Should be cutting these this week and I'll report back.

Finally got my strut tower brackets made. Just need to make sure of the strut bar hole.

I'd post a pick, but I put some personal touches on them. I don't want anyone to get offended.

These were a fair bit of work. Re-designing them and manufacturing them.

Oh come on, everyone thinks it should be done in 30 minutes and cost $39...and be built and shipped yesterday! Lol. Building something right takes time and usually money. I'm excited to see what you came up with.

I have seen them. They are VERY impressive. But I don't blame him for not sharing. That's the environment that has been created.
