Default Help: Strange speaker sound on S351

Hi All,

I have a 1998 S-351.

I am hoping someone has ran into this problem before, I took the s-351 out for a drive , while driving I had a CD in the CD player and all the sudden the CD player stopped working. The CD lights are working but CD player is not playing, the CD is not responding , no buttons respond and I can not eject the CD. When I turn off the car the radio is making a very loud popping sound through all the speakers.

Got home, checked all Fuses and all fuses are fine, no blown Fuses, took all Fuses related radio and amp and wiped them down to be sure there is no contact problem.

The radio plays but the sound has diminished, for example if I put it half way up it sounds like if it was on low and all the way up sounds like its on half volume.

Anyone ran into this type of problem?

Regards,
JR

Could be the amp for the speakers.

As far as the CD player. It may have kicked the bucket.

Yes it is the 460 one.

I bought a CD player from ebay to see if that is the problem.

I am suspecting the AMP may be glitching due to the loud sound when turning off and on.

I will let you guys know what happens with the new CD player

Is this a convertible? I'm thinking the amps in the back could've gone bad or blown a fuse. That or you have a sneaky mouse crossing your wires in the back of the radio :) Sorry, wish I could help.
