Default Q: Stage 2 Competition Cams? - Series VI supercharger

Just need some feedback of drivability and it being a daily driven car. Also I heard you lose bottom end(under 5k rpm ) but pick up top end. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

I went with Detroit rockers by Brenspeed and comp and they work well. I actually didn't lose any low end power. They sound good. The driveability didn't change too change, but it does buck a little at low rpms https://vimeo.com/140139268

Have 2006 GT with Saleen V1 and Brenspeed Stage 3 (530 hp tune). Had Comp Cams VSR 127300 prior to the Saleen s/c. Drive it everyday. No loss at bottom end. Have 410 gears and thinking of going to 3.75 or 3.55. Just a great set up. With the Saleen I wouldn't be worried about losing bottom end.

Here are the specs on the Comp Cams stage 2, 127300 VSR (valve springs required):
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=976&sb=1
They drive like stock but add a lot of power. I don't have a video, but will try to upload one. I wasn't really looking for lope just power. Brenspeed indicated some Saleen Extremes used this cam. Here's a couple of quotes. "The most popular VSR camshaft for naturally aspirated cars would be the Comp 127300. This cam typically produces a 30 rwhp gain on a mild engine and idle and drives like stock. This is also the cam that was used in some of the Saleen Extreme Mustangs. A comp 127350 has a mild change for supercharged applications but we have found the gains are very similar to the 127300 being used also in supercharged applications.

and another opinion:

Nah, 127300s, same cam saleen used in the s302/pj. They work awesome with the saleen blowers. Imho blower grinds are best suited for centri blowers. With the saleen blower and full boost down low the 127300 na cam is more suited to the power band."

Unable to upload the videos of the exhaust sound. Have Pype bombs with 24" quarter wave tubes and the sound is "Beautiful Noise".

Lenko, please explain your setup a little more. I am interested in those extra pipes that you welded in. Hope to be able to hear an audio clip too.

I had quite a bit of drone with the pype bombs at about 2000 rpm so I did some research into Helmholtz chamber and 1/4 wave tubes, j-tubes. People were having success in eliminating or reducing drone so I thought I'd try it. What it is is a pipe of a certain length - 24" in my case and it is capped on the end. Some of the exhaust noise is diverted into this pipe and it goes to the end and bounces back entering the exhaust system disrupting the hertz sound somehow which reduces the noise and changes the tone. In my case the pype bombs sounded great but somewhat loud and droned so if the windows were up sometimes you could feel it in your teeth as you clenched them- annoying. The pipe eliminated the drone and changed the sound to a nice deep throbbing - extremely pleasing when cruising, but still roaring when you punch it. I used 2 1/2" pipes. 2 rounded 45 deg, 2 corrugated slight bends and 1 18" straight. I bought 2 straight but only used one. Less then 50 bucks. The caps were leftover from grandson's long tube install, but you can use something elde The pictures depict how assembled. on the bottom of the axle back elbow cut a decent (not perfect) hole. The rest was planning and arranging the tubes so they swept back and upwards on the immediate outside of the pypes muffler to fit in the space between the muffler and outer fender. the straight piece is clamped to the corrugated piece so you can move it in and out and not hit the back of the bumper fender area. Son-in law welded them for me.

Have had them for over a year and still enjoying the sound. Fortunately they don't touch anything so no rattles. I' try to figure out how to put the videos on.
