Problem: Upgrade to Stainless Steel Brake Hose?
I'm hoping someone can help me here... I am replacing the old brake components on my 1988 Saleen with new stuff, and am having a problem with the stainless steel brake hoses I bought.
I bought the kit from CJPonyParts (Part # BHS24 85-86 SVO Stainless Steel brake hose) but it doesn't appear to fit. I have attached some pics where you can see that the fitting that connects to the steel hose lines is a different size than the factory one and so the steel line doesn't fit into the stainless steel fitting. And on top of that, it appears that the mounting bracket is a little smaller on this kit also. Can anyone please tell me which stainless steel kit I am supposed to have for this? Thanks for any help!!! |

Answer to this is, you will need to find the thread pitch on the hard line's screw for the brake line itself. then you can go to your local hardware store and get an adapter fitting that will screw in to your hard line then reduce to your new ss brake line, very easy to do. good luck. I would tell you what it is, but i just cant remember. sorry guys
