Q: Trailers - What kind do you like for a lowered foxbody?
I have a lowered fox body Saleen Mustang and would like to get an open aluminum car hauler for it. Any recommendations in what to look for or brands? I know it has been trailered and carried by tilt bed wreckers a few times always with issues of how to keep the front ground effects from dragging. Fortunately the wrecker drivers have always had some additional ramps to assist with really low cars.

Have a set of race ramps, or planks and blocks. We have an enclosed we use, with our termaleen with 2.5" of ride height (stock, but still very low).

Any trailer can be made to work with the appropriate length of approach ramps. You can also use
the trailer jack to raise the front and lower the tail to get some extra clearance. If you look at Race Ramps website, they will show you how to use a yard stick to determine if their ramps will work with your car. Use the same idea, use a yardstick and measure from the tire to the front of the bottom edge and also the height. You can then determine using simple trigonometry how long your ramps needs to be to clear a certain height. |
