Help: Saleen PCM issue - S281 SC
I took the saleen out after the winter, the battery had lost its power and i was able to replace it as it was under warranty
The battery was not connected properly and it blew the ground wire and the car lost power. The cluster showed check charging system The alternator had to be replaced and now everything looks good, except for the cluster showing the same display Dealership checked with saleen and they say the PCM has to replaced and programmed Any suggestions and help in this will be appreciated Thanks' |

Never heard of "blowing a ground wire".. Maybe a ground trace in the PCM circuit board?
I had my battery disconnected for 6 months and had no problem hooking it back up. Are you sure you have a "bad PCM"? For the money involved... Get a used PCM, or one from an auto parts store, and buy a handheld tuner and custom tune from JDM Engineering, Brenspeed, or someone similar. You will have to have the blank PCM programmed to stock, and get PATS synced up... based on your VIN, but I think either of the above businesses can probably do that. Then the Saleen tune or a custom tune is loaded into the stock programmed PCM. |
