Q's: 2006 S281 3-valve?
I recently purchased 06-134, This is the 5th Saleen I have owned, but I have been out of the hobby for 5 years. I have a couple questions.
My car has 20x9 wheels and 275x35x20 tires on all four corners. Can I rotate tires front to back? My car has the under hood plaque stating 06-134 build date 05-06 and Vin # on it but no console plaque. Also it has Ford shock on the rear. Not sure of springs but they look black. All the other cars I have owned, except 91-01 have had red springs and aftermarket shocks. Is this correct? |

if your sure the backs arnt 20x10 then yes you can swap them around.
Missing dash plaque is a concern...? There isnt a console plaque though... Yes the Saleens had Racecraft suspensions. Yellow shocks. I would get a build sheet from Saleen to verify the car. They should be able to verify the vin either here or on the phone. Is it a supercharged car? Color? Coup or vert?

As noted... your S197 Saleen Mustang should have red Racecraft springs and yellow N2 shocks/struts. You should also have a red upgrade front sway bar.
These S197 suspension components were supplied by Vogtland for Saleen with "Racecraft" logos. Just a reminder... your front and rear wheel offsets are different. Does it appear as though your car ever had the plastic serial dash plate? |

My Vin # is 1ZVFT82H265253445 Saleen Vin 06-134 from Saleen plate on firewall. It is a Silver car and is a coupe.

So if the OP's front and rear wheels have the same 20X9" diameter and were factory equipped with 275-35-20's on all 4 wheels.. Then how is it that the wheel offsets are different ? IIRC the offsets should be the same providing that both the wheel dimensions and tires sizes are the same.. IMO the OP should be able to rotate his front and rear wheels/tires with no issues whatsoever..

Great question! Because Saleen equipped their standard wheel package with specific wheels for the front and rear. The standard rear 20x9" are spec'ed to push outward toward the fender edge... to remove the sunken wheel look.

Thanks for clarifying.. As having them spec'ed to push outward towards the edge of the fender would seem to make more sense
