Default Q: Cold air intake?

I need to fabricate or purchase a different set up than my current CAI. This does nothing if you ask me. Having a little shield blocking the filter from the engine 20 inches away is pointless. That area is just as hot as any other spot under the hood. It's a big deal I need to tackle being in the hot Phoenix area.

Pretty much every other kit is the same configuration to what you have. The Saleen Extreme kit CAI is the only one I know of with a totally enclosed filter. A bigger fanned heat exchanger and possibly a new pump will help a little in lowering your intake air temps.

Cool! BTW: I believe the guys at JDM Engineering once said the stock Saleen Extreme intake system flowed well enough for most applications.

Yea for months I've been looking online for that box off the Saleen Ultimate Air Intake setup with no luck. On another note, the simple fact that the stock intake air filter has a good housing and enclosed top is good. I might pick one up, do some cutting and modifications to the bottom and use it. Route some air flow to come up from the bottom when moving.

Exactly my reason for staying with the stock 07-08 Extreme intake w/hard plastic inlet tube..
