Default Q: Availability Series II Cold Air Intake? - 2002 S281 S/C

I have recently went on the hunt for a CAI or my 02 S281 SC and realized that there are none to be found. Does anyone know of anyone that still sells these? I feel like my SC could be breathing alot better without this restricting tube of rubber hanging off of my motor. Also is a tune mandatory if you install a CAI on a saleen? Are you suposed to Upgrade the MAF?

Sorry so many questions at once but you guys are full of answers.

i assume you have a series 2? does tuneable induction make them still? jlt made intakes for the series 4 but stopped, not sure why. they ask once or twice a year for a early model saleen to make a intake for. someone may have a chicane piece, but they are no longer made, which is very sad.

OP is the one with the M112 Supercharger.

They quit making them because there is no market for them. To few for them to produce anymore. Each company filled a gap for a short period of time but selling one, two or a few a month is not worth the production price.

i understand, but if they made lets say a run of 50 of them and kept them on the shelf, i dont think that would hurt them, im not expecting them to make 100's a day or pump out a large amount, just if they had a mold or knew how to make that specific intake, i dont see why they couldnt build them with money recieved, maybe a group buy or something. business is business though...

yes that would work, notice it says MAF forward so it doesnt replace everything just in front of the mass air flow sensor. put its a popular upgrade!

If there was enough demand and people got aboard for a pre-order I could make a Chicane RIPP kit clone. I have a few ripp kit pipes and parts in my stash of stuff already. Problem is like was mentioned before I am not sure the demand is there:-(

Put me down for one. My car had a bbk cai on it when I got it but I think it was designed for the n/a gt's because the tubing is really small.
