Default Q: 3.6 pulley or 4.10 gears?

I have a 08 Saleen RF with longtube headers, and brenspee tune . It feels fast in 1st and 2nd but after that it feels kind of slow. I was wondering if I would be better going with a pulley swap or gears. I'll be racing it in the 1/8 mile. I'm shooting for 7.5 times

For racing, I'd recommend 3.6" pulley and 3:73 gears.. For street performance 4:10's suck on the highway at cruising speeds above 65MPH, as you end up in higher RPM ranges running all the time..

Unless your drag racing with amazing traction adders, stay away from 4:10's. Do you feel a different power curve in 3rd and 4th?

No you dont, but its always a good idea to have your air/fuel mixture checked just to make sure your not lean anywhere in the rpm curve. I would consider a drop in single pump (340lph) for some added safety...they are super inexpensive.

I was alittle confused because one place said the 98 mm Saleen intake is fine and the other place said it won't work. I think I'll go with 3.73 gears then. I was just worried about putting on a 3.6 pulley and running out of fuel because I have longtube headers. I'm going to take it to the track soon with 28 in slicks and see what it does with headers and the 3.8 pulley. Hopefully faster then my Mach1 I just had i went 12.8 with just headers and xpipe. I going for high 11s

I don't think you'll make it into the 11s with a 3.8" pulley. It all depends on your 60' though. In my old car the best I did with a 3.4 pulley (460 rwhp) was 12.025 @ 116 with a 1.78 60'.

Adding lots of rear traction would help!

I don't remember. It was probably 4 years ago. My current car I cut 1.5x 60s and launch at 5000 rpm on MT ET Street Rs.

I'm going to use Hoosier 28 inch slick even though it's probably to tall for 3.31 gears.

I've been running the Saleen 98mm intake with 3.6 pulley, stock fuel pump and 4:10 gears for over 2 years.. Haven't ran into any issues whatsoever, however I would definitely take Jason's advice by having your air/fuel checked just to make certain that your air/fuel mixture is safe..
