Default Q: 4.6 PI head and intake swap?

Has anyone done the PI manifold to Non-PI heads conversion? If so how did it work for you?

I did this upgrade on my son's 96 Saleen. Used the kit from Late Model Restoration that included fully assembled new heads with cams. The kit was very complete and everything bolted up just like it was supposed to. You will of course need to get a tune. The car had approximately 37k miles on it when we did the upgrade. He's been running it for a year and half with out any issues. However, the car just rolled 40k miles.

Default PI intake to non PI

I had this done last year at Livernois Motorsports. They have a machined adapter that was used with the stock non PI heads. Also had 75 mm TB, headers and X pipe installed. Since then I bought a used Saleen S/C(had it rebuilt) and installed still using the adapter. Paul's in Jackston,MI did the tune and dyno. The heads are the limiting parts but ended up with 340 hp . A lot more fun to drive now.

Thanks for the replies. I'd be interested in more info about the machined adaptor which was gotten from Livernois. I have a PI manifold coming for my Non-PI heads. I've read many posts on various forums and viewed several videos on this subject. I have not yet come across anything about longevity. I'm slightly apprehensive as to how well the blob of silicone in the corner of the coolant passage is working for the long run. I will however proceed following the procedure as has been described on these many posts on the subject unless I come across diffrent option.

Default 4.6 PI head and intake swap

no problem, I am sure if you contact Livernois they will give you the info. I do have a practically new PI intake with the metal water cross over that I do not need if any one is interested.

Just did the pi manifold swap on my 98 a couple of weeks ago. I just did the silicone on the passages and had no problems. Gave it 24hrs to dry before refilling coolant and starting.

Thank you once again for the replies. I'll be starting the project today. All necessary parts arrived yesterday.
