Default Q: Typical air temps? - 2007 S281 SC

wondering what Air Temps your car's usually run?

Mine seems like it's running hotter than normal.

Outside temp 80 to 85, Air temp 125 to 150 is about where mine runs.

thanks

Amy ideas what could make it hotter?

Time for coolant change?

Anything in the computer?

Fan not running?

Is that your temp under normal driving. Are you running the stock gauge.

Yes. Not even running it hard.

Stock gage.

Even though it does seem warm under the hood for sure.

Engine temps seem normal.

Pop open your intercooler reserve tank and check your water flow. It should be pumping a steady stream. I run straight water with a bottle of water wetter mixed in.

seemed like it was flowing ok.

i live in MI, so need to be aware of freezing during winter storage. Maybe i'll try fresh coolant mix.

i've used water wetter in the past with good success.

Thx for the video!

Verified mine is running, even when hot.

Next I'm going to test it on freeway to see where it runs at 70 mph.

Recently, I've had it on 50 mph with some stop and go traffic.

latest update

i used a laser temp gun and got the following

outside temp 75
engine is 1 slash left of center. it is straight up and 1 slash towards cool.
running 50 mph the car hit 125 on the air temp.

laser gun read 124 on the the air exchanger

engine temp, the valve covers were reading 170 degrees on the laser gun.

so to me it seemed the air cooler was correct.

i opened the cap even when hot, and it was flowing full throttle.

thanks

ray
