Default Q: New Saleen floor mats?

Has anyone ordered a set of replacement fox body floor mats from Saleen yet? I was poking around their web site the other day and saw they offered them for 87-93. I was thinking about getting a set for my 86 once I get my tax return back even though they are not correct. Just curious.....

One owner placed an order for the 1996-1998 S281 mats and he's been waiting over 6-8 months for them.

Yes, I did, I ordered them, shipped the next day, and I got them in under a week (ca to ma shipping). I'll try to take some pix, as I have a set of unused 89 mats to compare. While they are not exact, I'm very happy with what I got.

I'm glad you pointed out that they are new, so I didn't think I was crazy for not seeing them a couple weeks ago.

Here you go. The new mat is on the left. To the best of my understanding, the mat on the right is an original unused 89 mat. It came in the trunk of a 24k mile 89, but I have had no contact from prior owners, to confirm 1000% (I found it at an Infinity dealer as a trade in). Also cant comment as to how much of the color of the original may have changed over time. As you might be able to tell my my level of analysis, I can be totally OCD over originality, to a nauseating degree.

As stated in my original reply, these new mats are perfect for my application, as finding original, are not easy, if even possible. These mats I can install, and use.

The grey and black look pretty good but the sand beige mats look way off in their picks i have several nos set's of the originals and they appear much different(If someone has purchased the sand beige please post pics would be interested to see if looks like sample photo their new product). But it is awesome to have mats you can throw in your car and drive without worrying about accidentally ruining a $550 set of mats....

Looks like the new ones might have a 'tighter' pyle?

They look good. I'll probably get some.

All - Just ordered an extra set, on back order for a week or two - just an FYI.

Default Floor Mats

Tigger -

Yes, I received an email telling me that it would be a week or two. They look nice - hoping for the best.

Default Mats

All-

New Mats have been received, leaving them in the plastic and box for now. They look good. For the record, however - they are of different external dimensions than the originals.

I still have my originals in the car (black backing), and a secondary set I ordered in the early 90's (grey backing) - both of these sets are of different dimensions than the ones I just received.

I'll post pictures later.

Bob

You can see in my pictures they are slightly different sizes. Not a biggie to me. I would guess it's a different manufacturer, slightly different pattern for a fox.

The new floormats look very nice!

To my eye... it appears these new mats use SALEEN text that is based off the 1999-Present corporate logo design and MUSTANG was stitched using a different font style than the vintage versions.

Agreed, they are very nice. Better than what I had (nothing, for the car I bought them for). Happy even though there are subtle differences.
