This April 2nd is Steve Saleen's 60th Birthday, and we want to invite you all to join the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club on this month-long celebration of this momentous occasion!

I wanted to take just a few seconds to get in line here with everyone else to wish you a very safe, enjoyable and Happy Birthday My family and I have had the pleasure of being able to meet you while over at the Woodward Dream Ave cruise that is held each year near Detroit each August. Our son, who was 15 when he got the chance to shake your hand ( he was so nervous.. he shook left hands).
He has been very inspired because of meeting you. After meeting you and visiting the (then) Troy production facility...made up his mind to get into Auto Tech. He starts this fall(2009) at the University of NorthWestern Ohio in the field of preformance cars. My wife and I on the other hand were able to meet you way back in early days of the Cleveland Indy Car Grand Prix. We had asked if you could autograph our program....I wish I know where it was at today. It would look so good in a frame on one of our walls. One other thing I wanted to do was to thank-you.... not for the awesome cars you produced but because of your cars ,,,the company and of corse youself....My wife, my son and myself have grown closer as a family because we now all have this huge common interest in our 2005 Saleen S281 SC Thank-you and again a huge Happy Birthday to you.

Thank you for reading my mind--and those of lots of other true enthusiasts--by developing a car conceived, designed and built in America that can equal or surpass just about anything from Europe or Japan, in both looks and performance. And thank you for combining the exclusivity of a low production automobile with practical underpinnings that are amenable to modification and upgrade.

And perhaps most of all, thank you for the truly magnanimous act of voluntarily extending warranty coverage to some Saleen owners who were left out in the cold by your former company. My car is an '05 so warranties are of no personal concern to me, but I was very bothered by your former company's cutting short promised warranty coverage to newer owners at the earliest date they could. What you proved through your actions, however, is that integrity and honor have no expiration dates. With a single announcement you immediately distinguished yourself from all other auto CEOs and restored the faith of many of us in the "car guy" brotherhood in general, and the Saleen camp in particular. Starting today, I'll definitely drive my car with a little extra pride, knowing the depth of character of the man whose name is on the windshield.

So it is nice to know that we both have birthdays so close to eachother.
