From Chuck at Sturman & Larkin Ford:
Quote:
Hi David, Yes we are raffling a new untitled Parnelli Jones Edition. I'm sure you know about the car. The tickets are $30 each and have four 4 digit Pa daily lottery numbers on it. The ticket is drawn on the Dec 12th Pa lottery. We will pay pa sales tax & titling fees. If interested call me at 412-653-5800 *215. We have less than 200 tickets left.

Thanks
Chuck

I was the lucky lottery winner for the PJ. A dream experience (even during a snow storm).

Talking

A warm and heartfelt Southern Californian CONGRATULATIONS to you!!!

I know we've shared how the Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Editions are a unique combination of retrospective style based on a significant historical foundation, all wrapped up in modern Saleen engineering, and Steve Saleen and Phil Frank style. It's also neat that it's a car in which Parnelli participated in conceptualizing, and in part that came about due to his racing history with Steve. And Parnelli not only helped to actively promote the cars, but he even has two of them, one of which he drives!

This prize car couldn't have gone to a person more dedicated to the hobby, nor to someone who would appreciate it more!

Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congrats!

Did you get the car for free or just the sales tax & fees? Either way... it's still a great deal!

Thank you Mike! I purchased two raffle tickets at an investment of $60.00. Dealer takes care of PA sales tax and title fees. I pick up the rest.

PJ-423 might make a trip west via transport. A few Californians might stumble onto it.

The PJ really is a dream and an early Christmas present. I could not be happier.

Regards and well wishes.

The car has not hit me yet, I don't think. I have yet to drive it or even take delivery. Still dreaming.

It's been a weird couple of weeks, months, years. I had realized and planned some changes to my life's work and purpose. Came to realize I've been successful over the past 3.5 years in a position I tire of. That I'm not stuck, I have options or I can create my own. I also realized material goods and symbols were not going to bring me happiness.

When I purchased my two tickets, I felt like million dollars. It's been a few years since I've truly felt that way.

The PJ allows me to live and experience a childhood dream from the late-1980s. Owning a Saleen Mustang was a motivator through schooling and a previous established "symbol" for my own success. The ability to reach this "dream" now in addition to signing my name to a brand new one... is really too much for me to take in at once.

Basically, I feel like I climbed a mountain over the past four years. Rediscovered my personality, interests and drive within a matter of weeks... then was given a new Saleen for doing so.

Great question! I haven't really gave much thought to supercharging. Performance wise, the PJ was impressive on the drive home in N/A form. She can scoot.

Depending on availability and my frame of mind. I was thinking of adding a Twilight Roof and Billet Watts-Link via SMS Supercars. Not sure if "Sixty"* should stay 100% OE or gain a bit of personalization.

Jess Albright at Saleen Performance Vehicles has been more than helpful in my quest to attain a stock of PJ items, to both save for the future and to remove a few reminders that 423 was inventoried for 2.5 years.

Currently a set of S302 logoed floor mats reside in 423... while the OE PJ mats are now sitting pretty in the trunk for posterity. So, this might have been the first "modification."

A pair of Grabber Orange mirror caps might be a cool addition as well as black crinkle finish valve covers and those corporate logo billet fuel rails.

Not sure yet as to what I'll do, if anything.

*Greg Wackett named PJ-423 "Sixty"

While you are on that lucky streak, you should enter this one and have a KR to go with the PJ. Of course we would really be jealous then.

Thank you. I enjoyed the PJ on my short drive! Seems the car gained attention while it was parked in my parents driveway (the day after I took delivery and a few hours before Sixty went into storage), from what I hear. Not sure if I'm ready for Saleen/PJ ownership.

Can't wait until summer!

First time that I heard of this.
How FANTASTIC!
It couldn't have gone to a better recipient.
You do so much for this site!
Do you have another Saleen that you can drive while you keep this one pristine?
As in only drive on week-ends.

This PJ is my first Saleen. Currently sitting in storage. Hopefully I will enjoy "Sixty" this coming summer with a series of trips to events and shows.

I would also like to thank the great folks at MJ Acquisitions/SPV for replacing my damaged Monroney label. Jess and Jarred do wonderful customer service.

We might to work on the external harddrive. Would be interesting to see what internal damage was done and if anything can be extracted.

I hope to have PJ-423 out-and-about to various local events this coming summer. Last time I veiwed the PJ was December 24th, been in storage since.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations and kind remarks!

I'll agree. Need all the snow to melt, then we can have a flooding, then after a good rain hopefully everything related to the ground and road will be clean.

That is a great picture. I knew Dave won his PJ in a raffle. Was that a promo pic, or did you really have to pick it up in a snow storm? That must have been a fun drive on summer tires if you did.
