I'm looking to upgrade my suspension from stock. The car handles good at lower speeds but today on the 215 it got a little loose around 145 in a sweeper type turn. I had a turbo civic trying to chase me down and we got going pretty fast but didnt catch me.

I really just want more stability at high speeds. Would upper and lower control arms help? Also I'd like my car a little lower. What springs could I use to drop it another half inch? And if I did would I have to get aftermarket caster camber plates?

Hey There
I saw on your post that you said something about the 215. Are you talking about the 215 out here in Southern California?

I would give maximum motorsports a call and tell them what you are looking for. I am going to them to upgrade my suspension on my 89 Saleen vert...

Lowering your car another half inch might cause some serious rubbing under the back wheel wells...

BTW, slow50...who installed your stripe kit?

stripe kit??? It came stock with it. Its the original exterior since production.

Ahh, ya, but yours are backwards, so either your car has been repainted or it came as a factory decal delete and somebody has installed them after the fact..so I am guessing that you did not install them yourself?

Thanks for pointing that out, never noticed. I was under the impression that it was original paint but maybe your right and someone put the kit on wrong or Saleen did it wrong. Anyone know if Saleen takes a pic of every car they make for archive? I can maybe see original pics.

They dont take any such pictures, however, they have a build sheet that you can call and recieve a copy of. On your air dam, your front stipe piece belongs on the rear valence, and vise versa. This is normal for paint shops or a private party that installs the stipes at a later time. Call Liz and request a build sheet, and she will tell you if your car was a decal delete.

Yeah I may look into that. I will be at some point within the next 6 months be repainting the car, then maybe doing that look of the special edition Saleen like the one on the wallpaper section of this site. Yellow hood, yellow stripe on the side. Do you know what edition that was?

That would be the 1993 Saleen SA10 edition. That would be a very nice look. The SA10 Saleens are one of my favorites.

Yeah, I like those. I would keep my grey wheels, do you know what the wheels on the SA10 edition are called?

The wheels are 3 piece wheels made by Stern Wheels. The style of wheel I believe is called Face II. But around here they are just referred to as "3 piece Sterns".
