The older bodies are a better investment since they are becoming so rare.
Also Saleen did not mass produce cars around those years. When I say "mass produce", I tend to compare around 300 made in 87 compared to over 1000 in 04. I have to specific numbers, but unfortunately not in front of me.

All signs are pointing towards the Fox body cars being the future hot items for collecting and restoring in the hobby. Many folks are currently being priced out of the maket for any of the early Shelby, Boss or the like Mustangs. Were do you think those folks are going to look for an entry level car to enjoy? Try finding a nice Fox body car or parts now and you might be surprised how limited the availablilty has become in the last few years. I would guess buy now or you might be standing on the outside in a few years.
