Is anyone planning on going to Carlisle Pa. in June to the Ford Nationals. I know its a month away but the wife ,son and I are kicking the idea around. Also does anyone have any info on Hotels in the area, I don't mind paying a few more $$ if I know my car is in a secure lot. It a toss up between this and going to see Pinks All Out at the Summit Racetrack in Norwalk Ohio. Norwalk is 45 minutes away,,,Carlisle is about 5 and a half hours...but from what I hear it is so worth making the trip....Let me know

If you've never been to Carlisle before, it's worth the trip.

I went in 1995, 1997-2001, 2005-2007. I think in 2000 and 2001 I did whole the weekend. The rest were day trips. Too much to see for a day trip, but still fun.

In 2000 I believe I stayed in the Harrisburg area, it happened to be the host hotel for the Merkur Club... and I can recall they were out-and-about all night... so the parking lot had people/ traffic. Or at least it sounded like it. Vroom vroom.

In 2001, the hotel was one of the ones located near the Turnpike.

There will be a few SOEC members at Carlisle and some support for them... I also believe Bryan M. (the SCOA PA rep) was speading the word to his/their crew.

Carlisle All-Ford Nationals '08 should be a good time!

Oh... off-topic, but if you have nothing to do on 09/06/2008, come to the MVM Show in Youngstown. Send me a PM for a form if interested.

May 19th end the pre-registration for the 2008 Carlisle All-Ford National Event.

After the 19th, it will cost an additional $10.00. Anyone who attented a Carlisle event in the past knows the benefit of having a pre-registration card when you enter the gates. The benefit being... you're not waiting in a registration line for 20-30 minutes.

Registration form for download -- click on the image below and send yours in today as time is running out!

Hi Craig,

Did your son and yourself enjoy Carlisle? How was the first experience?

I helped deliver a car last Saturday... which came to light the Monday before... so that took me out. Oh, and it was hot outside.

Looked like a good time!

Neat!

I think I like Ben M's black Stern driver wheels. Different.

Dave:
You know what they say about a woman being able to change her mind, well my wife did just that. The 3 of us went and we had a great time. If there was one thing that sucked about it( well 2 actually), it was to F'ing hot. Because of that we did not get out from under the tents much to check out all the cars. A news station said it was 96 degrees. We're looking forward ot going back next year already. The car did really well....We averaged about 21.6 mpg and that was with the front end taped up with that blue painters tape.

Just to protect it from stone chips while driving. I let my 16 y/o son drive about 2 hours each way...He loved the winding PA turnpike. Imagine that !!
