Saleen S281 Supercharged Spotted by Paparazzi in Ukraine;
Celebrity Owner Overshadowed in Story by Black Market Mustang

October 11, 2009 -- by Saleen Forums News -- A recent story found in a Russian tabloid was not so much about Elena Leetveen, the famous daughter of a famous Ukraine politician and who is well known in her own right as the owner of a luxury store, but instead it was mostly about the car she was driving. While she may be beautiful and famous, we also find the vehicle she was driving to be more of interest than what she was doing on a sunny day in Kiev. Loosely translated, the story reads...<!--StartFragment -->This girl driving beautiful sports car, Ford Mustang, with 4.6 liter engine. Usually you can buy a Mustang basic model for $65K, but this car, for this girl, is almost two times more expensive because this car was tuned by one of the best bodyshops in America... Saleen. This bodyshop puts into the Mustang everything that you can imagine, beginning from new coachwork, seats, bumpers, or anything else that you may want. Officially the Ford Mustang is not imported into Ukraine, but it can be easily found in Kiev for sale on the black market.
While the story does not mention the model or year, it looks to be a 2006 S281 Supercharged. Perhaps our Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club window sticker will soon be finding its way to the Ukraine!

Could be the same S281, even though the plates are different... it seems blue was a popular "export color," as evidenced by our friends in Sweden and elsewhere.

I knew there was an S7 in Moscow, and there may be more than one over there -- some years back I assisted a Russian repair shop owner in getting him to the right people at Saleen for guidance on an earlier model that was sold out of Symbolic in Nevada to a gentleman from Florida, who then evidently sent it to or took it Moscow.

Anyway, the gentleman told me "Saleen is the rarest car in Moscow (and in Russia too)."
