Q: How many Follmer Editions were made?

I found one of these cars with only 500 miles on it and asking price is $55K. I heard 250 were originally scheduled to be produced but wondering if that many was actually made? And can some of you chime in on what you think the values should be?
thanks
Jeff

Last we knew, there were four (4) 2014 Follmer Editions produced. Excluding the 14-0001 promotions vehicles, the other three were converted late during the 2014 model year.

Yes, 250 were announced for production in summer 2013. In 2014 Saleen Automotive received about thirty (30) 2014 Torch Red Mustang GT coupes to use for Follmer production.

Most of these units were returned to the ordering Ford dealer to sell as stock Mustang GTs. Two (2) are believed to have become SA-30 Editions after a Pearl White repaint, a few became a "special" discount 2014 S302 White Label offering, while others became 2014 S302 Yellow Label models.

An enthusiastic Saleen gave us the VINs for the 2014 Torch Red Mustang GT batch and we have copies of all their Ford window price labels for posterity.

The 14-0001 promotions vehicle was the lone GF Edition to feature the unique GF rear redesign treatment. The #01 car also ran 2007 PJ wheels and Saleen design 2007-09 rear window louvers.

Production vehicles ran a unique GF wheel, used off-the-shelf rear louvers and White Label trunk insert panel.

I too like these wish they built more I have a thing for the unique limited editions. I had an SA-30 in my grasp but I was in the middle of moving across country and had to pass. Still trying to find a specific numbered 08 Gurney edition

Wow, only 4 made. So what kind of a value would you guys put on one that is a 1 owner car with just 500 miles on it?

jeffthebuilder 07-07-2019 06:45 PM

I found one of these for sale, only 500 miles on it and supposed to be absolutely perfect. Incredibly rare with just 4 being produced, gotta be one of the rarest Saleens? Anybody want to offer their opinion on what would be a good price on this car? Thanks.

Saleen George Follmer Edition 2014 Mustang: 500 miles

Sorry if posting in wrong section, I tried to get opinions on this car's value on a post in another section but no responses so far. I found this car for sale, it only has 500 miles, 1 owner, and supposed to be absolutely perfect. Asking price is $48K. Seems like a great deal since they only made 4 of these and the retail price was around $80K. Let me know your thoughts on the value. thank you
Jeff

Are you buying the car to drive, show and enjoy over the next few years? If so, it is a late-model Saleen that has a nice amount of depreciation.

Are you looking to buy the car and sell in 2-3 years for profit? Leave it where it is. It will be 20-25 years before anyone has an idea if the 2014 S302 GF Edition will be collectible.

Value? It's kind of a strange deal. The 2014 Follmer Edition was Saleen Autos version of a Boss 302. Ford Motor Company offered a Boss 302 in 2012 and 2013.

Dollar for dollar the Ford version has a longer list of unique equipment with regards to the overall build and was offered at about $40,000.00.

The Saleen GF Edition is a cool appearance commemorative model with engine, suspension enhancements, but few know the model exists which does not help in attracting buyers.

Like I stated above, the 2014 GF did not leapfrog the 2012-13 Ford Boss offering.

This is old information but 1 was listed on eBay in 2015. There was 1 bid for $50k but it did not meet the reserve price. Again, just information I found.

Here is the car's eBay announcement from SOEC . (lots of photos)

Did anyone buy it?

jeffthebuilder 07-28-2019 09:43 AM

That 2014 Follmer Edition Saleen Mustang has now been sold. Asking price had been reduced to $48,900, not sure what the selling price was. It was at Flagship Motorcars of of MA.

Good price with depreciation. You should have purchased it.

If I knew where it was I would have for sure

I currently own #001 Saleen George Follmer Edition. I also own a 2012 Boss 302. The Follmer Edition car is far superior to the Ford Factory BOSS 302. No comparison !

Okay great, now you tell me!! Where was all the advice while I was trying to decide whether to pull the trigger or not on that car ha ha. Only 509 miles and supposedly "museum quality" for less than $49,000. And only 4 models made.....I think that was a great deal. I did offer $40K cash and they replied that it had just sold. Oh well, thanks all for the input.

#001 is the prototype car you see on the Internet. Pebble Beach, Laguna Sega, Disney World etc.

I currently own a 2011 GT500 putting down 560 HP to the wheels along with a 2012 Shelby GT350 Supercharged 624 HP. My Follmer prototype car can easily outrun them both !

These are great cars and I did see one in person and when I heard only 4 were built I was shocked. I was dealing with a serious unknown health issue otherwise I would have bought either the SA-30 or the Follmer Edition. I been searching for a specific numbered Dan Gurney Edition #39 or #13 or #8 or #68 in Vista Blue or Red. In 2017 #10 Saleen SA-30 was For Sale but I just bought a house and had another one For Sale while moving 8 Mustangs across country or I would have bought it! I am one of the lucky owners of the 2019 Saleen SA-35 Editions but still looking for a Gurney even an 89 SSC as just getting back to owning some Saleens.

If you know anyone who is looking to Sell their 88-93 Saleen Conv.'s please let me know

Great Saleen you got there I would like to see Saleen offer PJ/Gurney/Follmer editions again as the newer Mustangs are just far superior to the 2007/2008 and 2014
