Q: Cleaning exhaust tips?

What does everyone use to clean the stainless steel tips on the exhaust?

Thanks.

Soap and water-if that doesnt work that means you need to wash more often!! I use wheel and rim cleaner (the kind that removes brake dust) after I've driven for an extended period of time.

I use PEEK metal polish.

Glass Cleaner & then a shot of NEV-R-Dul...buff it out to a brilliant shine.

Thank you for the suggestions. I actually bought some of the Nev-R-Dul last night. I will try that and the glass cleaner tonight.

The glass cleaner will remove all the deposits from inside the tips, tear a small chunk of NRD, work it a bit, then buff with a soft cloth...they should sparkle. I also do the same on the polished FRPP TB.

Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish nicely polishes and cleans stainless steel as well as bare aluminum...

Thats the stuff..
sorry i got the name wrong.

Ive used that product and nothing else.
Its does a great Job. Very easy to use..
BUT!!! i would say you probably should use
some form of wax after using it, just to prolong the oxidation from returning.

Yikes -- $27 a tube -- I can still see scratches in the right tip!

Deal of the day -- for the first 5 SOEC members who send me an email to jimd@mothers(dot)com with your name, address, phone and car info, I'll send you a FREE jar of our best Billet Metal Polish which beats that at half the price.

I use Mothers products across the board...awesome products! I have been using Mothers chrome polish on my tips but will try the mag and aluminum polish..I have other aluminum parts I would like to try it out on..the Mothers wheel and tire cleaner (spray on and rinse off) is awesome for a quick brake residue remedy and great shine..
