I've been messing with mustangs since I was old enough to drive and this is the first time I've heard anything like this.

Is the car a manual transmission?
In a manual I don't think there is any way for the car to know what gear you are in.

Did you check for codes?

Yes a stick.. dont have any codes pcm fuse just blows when i get into third gear.. car bucks hard then shuts off and then the theft light comes on and wont start till a new fuse is put in.

Is it possible it blows the fuse in relation to your speed not the gear you are in? And you just happen to be in 3rd.
Speed sensors on the trans are known to cause drivability issues when they go bad.

While I don't have a t45, I think it's the only part on the trans that sends a signal to the computer.

I'm pretty sure there is the back up sensor for the reverse lights and the speed sensor.
But the back up sensor i'm pretty sure is just mechanical in nature.

fuse issues pcm / ccrm

Same here, never heard of this type of issue. Check to make sure you have correct fuse for that location (correct amps- check fuse diagram). Have you tried to skip third, go from 2nd to 4th...gently of course see if the fuse still pops. If it does, and you don't need to smog the car anytime soon or ever...unplug the battery (red cable)...leave unplugged for 20 mins or so. Then plug back in...then run another procedure with new fuse (easy drive for a bit) see if you can get a check engine light. I am guessing a short somewhere. Oh yes, remember that fuse powers the pcm and ccrm (constant control relay module in the pass fender-fan speed, fuel pump) Don't spend any money on that unless you know that is the problem. Can be just a frayed wire somewhere and the revving of engine makes it makes it ground or touch another wire or something. Good luck hard to say, but all the best.

Good to hear. Electrical grimlins can drive an owner nuts. Glad to hear you solved the issue and thanks for sharing.
