Q: Convertible top treatment?
Notice my top holds alot of water when i wash it.
any suggestions for a treatment? I've used Fabric Guard, 303 in the past on outdoor fabrics with great success. any suggestions? thanks |
Do you have the optional cloth top?
|
It's black canvas type material.
My window sticker does not call out the option. This is a speedster, if that matters. Thx |
assuming i have the optional cloth top option, any recommendations? Is it supposed to bead the water, or is it supposed to absorb the water?
thx ray |

Try 303 Products -- they do have a convertible top protectant that should help with your problem -- available separately or as a kit for fabric tops.
You can get it on amazon.com or autogeek.net |

Ordered the fabric guard last night.
I will update after I spray the top. Thx to all |
quick update
I bought the 303 fabric Guard. used alot of old towel, slightly lifted the top. placed the towels under the top and on the windshield, over the side windows etc and covered the top. Around the back window, i used a piece of cardboard to cover the glass and spray around the window with towels covering all the vinyl and paint. Immediately wiped and over spray, which was not much....... Results Before, when i washed the car, the top soaked the water in immediately. After, the top beads and sheds the water as good or better than my hood with the 3 coats of Meguires carnuba! Works great. I will try and update in a few months after a few car washes to see how the top is holding up. |
