You may need to clay and wax, otherwise no detailer or spray wax will work properly -- the car needs to be clean and waxed.

That said, if you're still having problems, you're probably using too much product, working in too large an area (and it dries on you before you can buff), working in too warm of weather, or your towels are loaded up.
