Hi! The stock Ford Mustang hood is aluminum. Yes, remove the padding since you installed a brace that arches into the pad.
Saleen removed the padding for Supercharged cars that ran the OE hood since clearance was an issue for the taller intake.
The hood pad is a combination paint protector and fire suppressant. Removing it should not do you harm.
