Q: Air bag recall?

Has anyone got the Takata air bag recall yet? just wondering if they replace the air bag does it include the horn button. I don't want to loose or have them destroy the PJ horn button decal.

I have had it done. Takes maybe 30 min and your horn button will be fine. They don't mess with that.

The replacement inflation parts are never in-stock.

Call and see if the dealer can guarantee the arrival of these infiltrators. Prevent your vehicle from stilling at the dealer if they do not pre-order the parts.

The horn button will be fine. The screws are on the sides of the steering wheel under two little covers. Then the airbag is held in by four more screws and the wire harness. I watched the tech do mine... Takes 5 minutes.

My car is due for the passenger side one, but they do not have any in stock and the company went bankrupt. You can join the lawsuit and ask for compensation due to loss of value of the car due to defective airbags. But I don't know what Ford is going to do about the fix.

Don't believe the other guys... I had mine done at the local Ford dealer and the horn button was scratched up when I got it back. Anybody know where I can get another?

Ford Australia allowed me to do all my Mustangs
It took several months for the air bag inflators to arrive
As seelye76 said the drivers air bag is quite easy the problem with scratching the horn decal comes back to the technician. I made sure I put mine on a padded surface so no damage could be done. There are 4 small nuts holding inflator.
This is underside of the DS air bag once removed, as can be seen easy job.
Also note if checking your air bag to see if they have been changed if they have this yellow decal "as in photo" they are not the updated unit. The updated unit has a smaller white decal.
