I would look for a buyback on that one... meaning it may be up for sale again.

I am sure it was bought by a friend of the seller since it only made it to $6050.. I know of a personal friend of mine that had a big wing car out there a few years ago that bought it back... and it had a high bid of around $175,000. It should be interesting to find out what actually happened with this vehicle.

You might be wrong there, I think I know who won the auction and it is going to a good home if he did.

Well, if it was actually purchased by someone and not bought back by the seller.... It is one heck of a deal.

But at the same time I would not be surprised that a few of the cars that went through this year were bought back by the sellers since the market was really soft on the prices of some cars going through.

I made an offer on this truck a few months back, and I am over this!!! I am going to look at it this weekend and I am going to bring it home...

Jim, What can we do to Modify that crap out of this thing? Maybe a GT Supercar Motor like you put in the lightnings?

I'm kidding guys, wouldn't modify this one, but I am gonna buy it!!!

Wrong.

I love it when people who do not know think they know.

I do (as I know who bought it, and my brother was at B-J with him when he drove the car out). And the truth is out there...

Enjoy.

Oh... So Lance, the winner of the auction at B-J, ended up making a trade (plus cash) out in the parking lot for something else he wanted a little more.

While he felt the Ranger was a bargain and a neat vehicle, the Bondurant Corvettes he got in the end were the bomb.

ok, so i see it was traded back to DesertAutosports for Corvettes. that i did NOT know. but i still dont understand what is different than what i stated. the BJ purchase price was $6,050 , they are asking $14,995. isnt that what the previous owner who owned it before BJ was asking 4 it if i remember right???? thats 150% profit margin. i offered them a "decent" profit over what it sold for....

Not much. Mike just wanted to be gruff, show us his shoulder chip and probably direct traffic elsewhere. I wouldn't think much of it. This might be his way of marketing. **shrug shoulders**

If you read the Corvette mags, you'll see brother Chris cited for auction reports or anything Callaway. Not sure what happened to Mike, lead paint? **shrug shoulders**

Good luck with the SporTruck!

I am lost...Someone told a story that happened to be wrong...Then someone else who had the true story chimed in...Because of that now we actually know what really happened...However he was warned...Did I miss something cause where was the wrong done?

Now I see someone else actually directing negative comments at another member so I assume he will be warned as well and with a much more harsh warning right? I mean his post actually showed some wrong doing compared to the other post...I could be reading the post wrong maybe they are friends and this was some inside joke or something...

Chiming-in can be done politely and without being rude and insulting.

Anyway, shorangerbird, good luck with attaining the the SporTruck. Looks too nice for it to just be sitting at a dealer with no love.

Rude and insulting...What was rude and insulting about the post? I too think it is funny when someone posts up info like they are in the know but are completely wrong. I guess its just how someone reads it though....So we can agree to disagree

As for the other post now that was rude and insulting which nobody even the poster can deny....

Now for the public reprimand given to each it seems biased to one side...The first poster gets told to play nice and he is warned by the site admin (like he could get banned for another offense) for what seems to be a questionable post. The second poster then comes out and attacks the first with insults but he is just told by another member "there is no need for that". This time the site admin just dittos the members words, how is that fair?

I like this place there is a lot of good info and I am thinking about joining the club. Thing is I have lots of questions and I like to voice my opinion...I hope that doesnt mean I am a bad guy...Fair and balanced is my motto...

I think Mike did take some lead paint...

But all kidding aside among old friends...

As Dave said hopefully the SporTruck will find a good home.

ditto.....
i tried to get someone to bid for me at BJ, but could not find anyone who was going to be there on thursday. my boss went there on friday and sat. i had him try to find buyer. he found the truck but never found no one with it. so i found out later where it was, and made an offer which was profitable over the auction, but.......at what they want again for it, in this economy, i will hold my money and enjoy my GTs.......

-yes, most all know by now that the selling price was $5,500 plus the buyers fee.....so, with that in mind, thats my reason for the statement on the 10-5........

I am the owner that sold the truck to go west. when I let it go it still had brand
new XP-2000 on it. They obviously do not know much about saleens. They just bought the truck to try and turn a quick buck. The truck is in really good shape I owned it for two years. I had to make room for 88#19 RT and 88#21 RT this is the only reason I sold. May come back full circle one day!
