Exclamation 2006 S281 and 1 piece driveshaft.

Not sure if any of you guys have run into this one before...

I rebuilt my rear differential this past weekend and in the process, I figured I would upgrade my driveshaft to a 1 piece. I purchased the Ford Racing unit and in the process of installing it I found out that the shifter(I presume whatever Saleen installed?) interferes with the driveshaft. It was rubbing on the boot.

On the plus I will be installing an MGW, just sucks to have an unforeseen expense pop up lol.

Negative, just a supercharged s281. I did put the Brenspeed stage 3 on it though

Saleen installed what they called a "short shift block" into the 2005-09 S281 3-Valve and S281 Supercharged.

The rest of the shifter assembly was OE from Ford.

Interesting. Thank you, Dave. Honestly, that explains why I never fell in love with the shifter after all these years. I had a Cobra with a Pro. 5.0 shifter and into the s281.

The MGW is a big improvement. Not sure if it will interfere with your driveshaft.

I installed a one piece aluminum driveshaft on the 2007 Saleen (okay it was a PJ) and also had a MGW shifter installed. I had some interference with the driveshaft and the shifter's two screw/bolts that are integral to the driveshaft tunnel/shifter installation. I had to bend them back to clear the driveshaft. Based on some rear driveshaft interference with the emergency cable bracket at aft end of tunnel as well I did not install the one piece driveshaft in my 2006 S281 SC.
