Default SMS Camaro production???

Has this car been put into production yet?? Or is still stuck in a Concept/Rendering phase? I have not seen a real pic of one of these yet

During the last open house, there wasn't one there yet and Steve commented that there wasn't a big hurry to produce it, but it was coming.

Yesterday he mentioned late summer, but I expect that could change.

So is it safe to assume they scraped the Camaro this year and maybe beyond?

Cool Jinn

Whoa!! Quite a video on both cars!!
Saw 2 of the Jinns at Woodward Dream Cruise this late summer.
Both had the LED treatment that this one did not have: Very Bat-Mobile-ish, IMO.
Very slick looking rides!!

I wouldn't expect it anytime soon, except in White Label versions, perhaps. Focusing on the Mustang market is key right now.

I just talked with Steve, and for those following the SMS Camaro progress, expect an exciting update in mid- to late January.

That's about all he'll let me say at the moment. :)

We'll be sure to keep you informed on the Saleen Forums at soec.org!

I was looking at the Convertible Camaro 620X they had on the assembly line. It looked pretty much the same as the 001 car that was auctioned at Barrett Jackson. So what is the deal with the front and rear fascia, and wing? It has a front and rear bumper that looks stock except for the add-on lower splitter. It doesn't have the family resemblance that it does on the final rendering. Did they just run out of funds during the design? or is it still a work in progress?

Expect a more concerted effort with the next-generation Camaro.

Was the car finished? I thought maybe they had more to do with it...

That's actually going to be a 620X and it is not finished -- it's at station #4 and in these photos it doesn't even have an engine...

Sorry I don't have a photo, but there was a blue Saleen 620 Camaro convertible at the LA Auto Show, and Win Chevrolet in Carson has a silver Saleen 620 coupe.

Thanks! I knew you'd have them!

I just met with Vince from Win Chevrolet, and he's been a big Saleen fan for many years, and is excited to get the Saleen 620 in his showroom... he wants to do some events, so stay tuned!
