Default Calling: Northern NJ and Tri-State Saleen Owners!

I have been looking around and see that many regions have short get together's on a regular schedule and I don't see that we are having any in our area. These are get cars and great owners, and we all have upgrades and experiences that could be shared. Plus just the fun of getting together and swapping the bull would be enjoyable over some C&C or something. Any interest in putting together a tri-state C&C three or four times over the Summer and even Fall?

Well Dave, sadly there seems to be little or no interest as you can see from the lack of replies. I have looked into some local C&C's and there is one that meets about 10 or 12 times in Chatam NJ, looks of nice cars and folks. Any ideas on sparking some interest?

Come down to the PAS open house this weekend, you will meet some great Saleen owners and guys from your area. Maybe we can get Dave to come down too.

Most of the people in our area usually have more important things to do than
attend car shows, an unfortunate price of living in the area we do. We had a
great turnout at Atco 2 years ago and again up in Newburgh last summer, not
much scheduled in the area that I've seen this year so far other than the PAS
open house this past weekend. Augie and I both drive down from NJ to attend.

I might hit E-town this coming week just to see what the 99 does after I had
it retuned last year... Otherwise, I'm not aware of anything big going on in the
Jersey area over the next couple of months.

Thanks for some input, I'm sorry that I do not agree with the reply that " people who live in Nj don't have time or have better things to do". Just take a look in Chatham on most Sunday's and you will see about 80 plus car enthusiasts: Ford GT's, Super Alfa's, Lambo's, AMG, SLS and on, oh yes and two Saleen's. Just a wonderful group on guy's and gal's sharing their love of cars. Love to see some more saleen's- it's a nice 1-2 hours on a Sunday morning. Hope to see more there. I will get the scheduled days. Remember rain means a poor turn-out.

Hmm, I'll have to take a ride up for one of these when I get back from vacation... 11-0025 should be here somewhere around the beginning of September, might be a nice introduction run :)

I will be at the Downs Ford Show August13th with '86-#134 and '89-#667.

I'm trying to get as many Saleens in attendance so we can get the Saleens class broken out from the Roushes. I spoke to Jonathan at NJ Stangers and he's willing to break out the class as long as enough Saleens attend.

If anyone is interested in attending please email me at:
saleen667@optonline.net

Please pre-register ASAP!!!

Default Last Saturday in Chatam

Well, we turned out for the grouping on Saturday at 8:30 AM and there was a good showing of Porsh's about 9 or 10, 4 or 5 ferrari's, some nicely restored MG's, Austin's and a couple of corvettes, a few wild VW classic Vans and of course several vintage mercedes. Unfortunately just one Saleen. Well let's hope to see a few turn out at the next gathering in Chatam on saturday August 13 and again towards the end of the month. It was a nice time, some good talk and always a pleasure to see other cars.

Default Well it's time we got some Fun Going!

Last year was very dissappointing with the lack of Saleen owner's getting motivated to come out and get toghter. But if we can make our get-to-gethers FUN, why not come out.

Last year I tried to get Saleen owners to piggyback off the Chatham meeting, but no one came out. So this year we need to plan a nice little road trip lets say up to West Point and have a lunch at the Hotel Thayer and enjoy checking out the other Saleens and all That West Point has to offer us. Any thoughts to get the ball rolling? So many other clubs have a good comradery and FUN; thats part of why we have these cars so any thoughts?

I'm taking the 2011 to the GSRMC show on Route 23 in Butler next Sunday, 4/22...
Next up is Carlisle the first weekend in June, then the PAS Open House in July.

Default New Jersey and Tri-Stete Saleen Owners

Well it's nice out and time to see if we can get some comradery and just some plain fun going>

Cars and Croissants has started in Chatham, below is the list of dates and the information to get there. I think this would be a great starting point to get something going.

If that works how about getting a drive up to west point, and lunch at the Hotel Thayer right on the grounds at the Point?

As we have mentioned in the past, C&C is completely casual and informal. Just a bunch of car guys getting together on a Saturday/Sunday morning. No cost to you except for what you want to spend at the local shops. Please feel to invite others who might enjoy our gatherings.

The details (please read as there are a few changes):

Location: Parking lot of the Woodland Bakery, 650 Shunpike Road, Chatham, NJ 07928

A few requests:

1) Please do not park in the first row of parking spaces on the right as you enter the parking lot
2) Please obey all posted parking signs and, especially, leave any handicapped spots open for those who may need them;
3) Please do not lay down any rubber when leaving the parking lot!

Time: 8:30 - 11:00AM (We have noticed that parking lot now starts to fill up with shoppers after 11AM; a fixed end time will hopefully reduce crowding for both groups).

The link for the C&C Yahoo Groups Page: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/candcnj/

Weather was iffy, but now looks OK for Chatham on Sunday...Partly cloudy, highs in low 60s...Not sure yet if I'm going, but right now it looks good...Who else is planning on going?

Default Sorry again no turn out

Sorry you guys missed this Sundays Cars and Croissants, it was a very big turn out, in fact they moved the venue to the Chatam High School. There was around 125 cars and good times but sady only 2 Saleens, my Gurney and a nice GT 40. Too bad would have loved to meet some other car owners from soec. It was a nice time, plenty of beautiful cars to view, from classics to modern day supercars.

I was told that it will become a regular meet. I don't have the dates yet but I will post them up in here when I get them.
I grew up in Millstone Twp. so I know this area well.
On a side note, several months ago I was driving my Red Ram SRT-10 down RT#9 in Manalapan headed towards Freehold & I was stopped at a traffic light. I looked in the North bound lane & saw your Saleen with black wheels. That car is Bad@ss!!! I love it!

It was a nice time, plenty of beautiful cars to view, from classics to modern day supercars.
Sorry I missed it too, it sounded great. According to the posted schedule, the next one I can make is 6/17; however, that's Father's Day. I may not get to one until July....

I love it!

next meet at snob hill is may 27..hope to see u there!!

Hello Owners, our local Rotary Club is sponsoring a great car show on Sunday June 9th 2013 at Bergen Community College. We are expecting 500 or more cars, rides, music, cars, trophies and cars all for charity, Tomorrows Children's Instiute. So come on out and lets see those Saleens
Motor Madness Car Show: Hosted by the Sunset Central and Bergen Comm. College Rotary Clubs.
SUNDAY, JUNE 9TH AT BERGEN COMM. COLLEGE
RAIN OR SHINE

Dear Car Enthusiast Auto Club;

The Sunset Central Bergen & Bergen Community College Rotary Clubs are gearing up to present the 1st Annual Motor Madness car show benefit on the grounds of Bergen Community College. We anticipate a tremendous event and we welcome your support. We expect thousands of spectators lined up to see antique cars, trucks, muscle cars and much more. We are asking for your help in supporting the car show, helping deserving local charities and promoting your business.

With your participation you will help make this a tremendous event by showing your magnificent automobiles, enjoying the comradely of fellow car enthusiasts and possibly bring home the “Gold”.
I have enclosed an attachment of our car show flyer entitled, Motor Madness Car Show, for the benefit of Tomorrows Children’s Institute and other worthy local charities and a registration form for your members. As a special thank you, if 10 or more cars register from your club, you will be listed in the day of show magazine as a sponsor of this event and credit will be announced by Doc South throughout the day.
If you have any questions, you can reach me by email at DJR123@aol.com or by cell at 201-785-4044. We have the entire elevated parking garage for this event, safe and protected and very visible and plenty of parking!
Thanking you in advance for your support and attendance at this great event, please pass the word along to other clubs. By the way we are a charitable event.

Sincerely,
Don Roman

Wish I could make the event, but unfortunately it falls on the last day of Carlisle All Ford Nationals. Hope it's a success!
