Restoration: 1987-93 Quarter Window Moldings
This is before shot of my quarter window moldings that will be heading for paint in a few days. I considered the covers but didn't like any of the pictures that I saw so I decided to go this route. They were your typical 23 year old pitted and dried out mess that were sanded filled and sanded again before the car goes in to have all of it's black moldings resprayed. I took the moldings off of my last Saleen, but if you ask anyone that has ever done this the expensive door moldings eventually end up shrinking because yo have to remove their metal strips. Don't be mad at all of the trees that were used to cover up 88-0044 from overspray. More pictures to follow.

What type of filler did you use on the windows ?

I got my Saleen back today and it looks better then I thought it would. My friend said he used an epoxy filler that is designed specifically for rubber that is available from any autobody supply house. It was then sanded and sealed with a light coat of epoxy primer before being shot black with a semiflat clear topcoat. It was late today when I got home but will hopefully get the pics up in the next day or so due to uncooperative weather.
