RF = Red Flag edition. It's one of no more than 100 to be built.

Yessir, Its Saleen's competition to the Cobra me thinks (or was). Priced about the same, little less power but much better handling IMO. Doesn't have Saleen seats although they are resticthed with red thread and Saleen logos in all headrests. Tastefully done as a cost saver.

Have to disagree with you there. The RF model was Saleens attempt to econonmize the 281SC. Zero comparison to the GT500.

I was speaking in terms of power and performance, and considering its your car but less flashy I respectuflly disagree with you.

Has nothing to do with being flashy. Your comparing a 4.6 that is already being pushed to it's safe limits to a 5.4 that is at the begining of it's capability band.

Part of the RF Edition was to offer a low(er) priced S/C Mustang in 2008. At just under $50,000.00. Something to that effect. To complete with Roush pricing as well.

Sweet car!!
I wouldn't "throw her out of the bed" as seemingly implied earlier.

I also, like the red inlay.

Personally I like the look of the RF with red stitching on the interior and black/red combination throughout. Saleen should have used the doors with the red inserts for this model though. In so far as the GT500 vs the 4.6 the Cobra is way too front heavy. The 4.6 when modified right gives you more power with better weight distribution/handling capabilities.

The SVT/Shelby GT 500s (and their respective variants) are interesting vehicles, but they are by no means without their own shortcomings. S281 E / S302 E any day (usable performance, styling, collectability, exclusiveness) over every modern Shelby variant.

An S/C can be retrofitted to Extreme spec FTW.
