Letter of Authenticity from Saleen.Com

Hey Guys,

Iv'e got a 91 Saleen convertible that I've owned for 20 years.

A couple of weeks ago, I got pretty excited to learn that letters of authenticity could be had from Saleen, for $75 plus shipping. So I ordered it online, and it came earlier this week.

Looking it over, I was quite surprised to see that they got the interior color wrong. I'm the second owner, and I have pictures of the car rolling off the Saleen enclosed transport at the dealership, still in the wrappers, so I know how it was delivered, and built.

Reading further, they stated it was assembled in Long Beach.

Weren't all the 91 models built at Cars & Concepts in St Louis?? Before I write back to them, I'd like to make sure I'm correct about that. I'm hoping they can re-do my LOA, I know the company has been on a rocky road for the last 7 or 8 years, but it's a little disappointing. If the letter is not dead on, it isn't worth much.

Write or call Micayla to have the letter redone.

There should not have been an error regarding your special order white leather FloFit interior.

The paper build account records will state where the car was produced. This should be referenced.

The reference "cheat sheet" for your car had the interior color blank. So, someone might have guessed instead of pulling the paper file.

Did the "cheat sheet" show where it was built? Data plate under the hood says "Anaheim" , but I thought I read that Steve turned production over to Cars & Concepts for the 91's.

Most have "Anaheim" plates regardless of build location during both the C&C and SPP years.

At some point a seldom seen Saleen Enterprises plate was introduced as well as a Long Beach plate.

Build location is in the production file.

Yup.. The one I got for 91-026 says Long Beach too. I'm on revision #3. Think I'll cut my losses.
