Default Mecum Monterey Auction 2013: 07-049 PJ S302

Does anybody know why #49 at the Mecum auction only brought 17,000 dollars. It didn't sell but something was big time wrong with this car. It ran Thursday night and it was lot #187. I could see it had been mess with but still some thing had to be wrong.

Well. I think in the past we have seen Saleen vehicles tend not to fair well in an auction environment.

Also, Thursday night is not a high profile time slot.

My own opinion... the PJ is too new to draw attention and is still too plentiful in the preowned market. Currently, anyone can find a PJ for sale on eBay or AutoTrader at any time.

I've been surprised with the depreciation as well but market demand is what it is. The Coyote engine is a heck of a motor and you can't do it with looks alone. To me the PJ is by far the best Mustang (looks and engineering) of this generation.

So if anyone has a low mileage car let me know! I need #255 to have a stablemate!

I watched the auction last night after the above postings.

#49 was a modified vehicle with improper bumper number placement and a incorrect leading 0.

This may have impacted interest a little.

I noticed the transmission was replaced by a 6 speed Tremec.
Wondering what else was changed
