I need Help on s281 s/c Brakes
I just purchased 2006 s281 s/c and the brakes are squeeling. the pads look good. It sounds like a bus when i stop. What pads do i need to buy or what do i need to do.

Your probably gonna get squeeling no matter what, put some stop squeek on em, or try replacing them with some porterfield R4S pads.

The 06 SC I had brand new squeaked...big time...like a bus. But at the time...Saleen had a recall on the front rotors/pads...so I took it in to Sansone Ford and they ordered the new ones...they put them on..problem solved

Welcome to the Saleen Forums!
You should check the brake bed-in procedure on this thread: http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=5422 If you perform that properly, noise will hopefully be reduced. The Porterfield R4S pads are an excellent option.

Jim/Red Devil; do the Porterfield pads generate less dust than the Saline supplied pads? Mine are awful. Pulling the front wheels off to keep the car respectable gets old when you have to do it so frequently!

The R4S pads are a low dust low squeek option, and also remove any steering wheel shimmy problems you may encounter due to pads.

Your welcome!
You can contact Stoptech and just let them know you have a 14" 4 piston stoptech brake kit for a mustang and they will get you the right pad. They are very knowledgeable there. |
