Question Q's: Upgrade calipers? - 2000 Saleen S281

New to the group and also recently purchased my first Saleen. Not really knowledgeable with brakes etc but wanted to ask the question of how or can I get the saleen calipers for my s281? Not really sure of what is on the car now, or how to find out but def not the saleen calipers (ones that say saleen). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Congratulations on your purchase!

The standard front brakes for a 2000 S281 were the stock Ford Mustang GT units.

During model year 2000, you might see optional Saleen upgraded calipers by both Alcon and AP Racing.

About one year later, Saleen used a brake kit by Brembo for the upgrade option.

The Brembo kit Saleen used for 2001-04 models are similar to what Ford used on the 2000 SVT Cobra R. Except the calipers had a yellow SALEEN logo on caliper face.

Calipers produced by Alcon and AP Racing for Saleen are very difficult to find. These were specifically produced for Saleen and have the logo inlaid into the caliper housing / mold.

Regardless, all of these calipers are out-of-production.

A value priced upgrade would be the standard SVT Cobra brakes / 2001 Mustang Bullitt brakes / 2003-04 Mustang Mach 1 brakes.

Custom Baer kit with SALEEN logo.

That baer setup is kinda interesting.
Says it includes brackets, but the pics almost make the calipers look lug mount (I prefer radial).

I like the idea, but I just don't love the look of those calipers.
