Default Seeking Info: 2004 s281 SC Mufflers

I have my 04 s281 SC in the shop for a mechanical refresh and I'm in need of both mufflers (center exhaust). The car currently has Magnaflows, which I believe are factory (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I have two questions: 1) does anyone know where I can get replacements as close to the original versions as possible? A link would be especially appreciated, and 2) I know the inlet/outlet is 2.5", but I'm not sure if the offset is 4x9 or 5x8- does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Yep. The 2004 Saleen Mustangs used a MagnaFlow system. Typically, it is the tailpipe length that is Saleen specific. From the axle forward, standard aftermarket.

One note regarding the Saleen kit. See if your mid-pipes are welded to the mufflers. The Saleen kit may have less need for clamps. It appears the standard MagnaFlow kits are not welded.

If the answer does not come from a user. Contact MagnaFlow and ask one of their representatives for the original 2002-04 Saleen muffler series (or closest replacement). Then post your findings.

FYI- it looks like the mufflers are 4x9 with a 2.5" inlet/outlet. Sadly, Magnaflow has changed the script on the mufflers. In 04, it simply read "Magnaflow" but now reads "MF" on top with "Magnaflow" written in small lettering below.

Do you still need mufflers?
