2005-2009 Saleen Mustang For all S281, S302, H281 and H302 models based on the Ford S-197 Mustang platform, with the exception of the S302 PJ (see below). Be sure to specify year, model and equipment if asking for help.

Pull the shifter boot down past the lower lip on the knob. This will expose the part of the knob thats covered by the shifter boot. Use a rag and a pair of grips or small pipe wrench to break it loose-if it gets scratched the shifter boot will cover it if you decide to reinstall it.

Your not stronger than me....your inner chi is unbalanced since you have possession of someone elses Saleen chair. Causes you to be girly.

These comments kinda make me wish you guys had gone through the same ordeal as "Wicked" & I... lol

Oh Im just playing around....Mine was tough for 1/4 of the way out on the E but
you could do it with your hands. Saw remnants of locktite on the shaft.

Same with mine.. Took a channel lock and a towel to turn a few times and i heard the loctite breaking, after that it screwed off by hand. Funny how Saleen sealed up the shifter that good but then used the inferior blue loctite on the supercharger front seal. LOL

Ok, I can finally say, " Who the F put RED Lock Tight on my shifter?". After a hour of twisting and turning, I finally was able to get it off! Red lock tight residue was there. Thanks Saleen ugh !
