Default Q: Where to get work done in Greenville SC or NC?

Hello all and Happy New Year. I am looking for a VERY good shop in SC or NC to have a saleen supercharger installed on my 2006 s281. I also need somebody Very good to replace my clutch. I have replaced it 3 times with a Mcleod RST and each starts to shift hard in 1st & 2nd and will not go to reverse unless I turn the car off. They last maybe 1500 miles before starting to degrade to this point. Each time the stock flywheel was recut. I am going to replace the flywheel this time but I feel the shop I was going to should've caught that.I'm not sure if it's the shop I was using or the product itself!(Unless it's my driving with a twin disk lol) Any recommendations I would really appreciate it!!! Thanks.

If you don't mind the drive, you can visit my shop at Fastlane Motorsports in Benson, NC.
We specialize in mustang performance.
With the clutch, did you change the slave cylinder during the clutch job? We always recommend doing that.
An RST clutch is a wonderful upgrade and we would provide/strongly recommend an upgraded flywheel with it and not reuse your old/existing flywheel.

Do you already have the Saleen supercharger kit and is it new with all the parts kit included? Those are super rare these days to come by but are really good kits.
We would be happy to install it and tune it for you.
Give us a call at 1-800-457-6166 if you are interested in having us perform any services for you.

Good luck,
Ryan

@Damiean75. I highly recommend Fastlane Motorsports. I am the owner of an 05 Mustang with a Saleen series VI supercharger in it. I bought the car with it already installed. I’m not sure that the SC was installed by them. But the tune was. I must say that this thing runs beautifully. Tons of pull yet driver friendly. Scary fast. These guys really know what they are doing. They were also very helpful answering a few questions that I had.
Sincerely,
Tim Kramer

There are a couple of possibilities. Mcleod is not my first choice, but it is my second - so its not a low quality part. But there are install things to know. First, you need to check the deck height of the stock clutch assembly and the new unit to the fingers and use a shim if needed for the slave cylinder. Second, always use a new FORD slave. Third, its not a bad idea to fully bleed the brake system at the same time as to not introduce bad fluid into the slave cylinder. It sounds like you are having an engagement issue. Last but not least, have your transmission inspected. We have a local Tremec shop that for a small fee will tear down, inspect and reassemble and dyno. You get a full clean up, inspection and reseal for again a super small fee. I would also consider a different clutch, we use ACT. Give me a call if we can help.

In closing, I have had clients use Fastlane and say great things. I think we rebuilt a supercharger for them as well. I recall feeling very confident when speaking to them.
