Thats awesome man! What kind of stuff did you have to do to the car to get the 4v to work in it?

Pulled the old 2V engine w/T45 and installed the 4V engine w/T56. I used ALL the original wiring for the 2V with some minor modifications. Saleen computer with a Cobra flash. Used the dual Cobra fuel pumps and tank. It was a easy engine and transmission swap but the wiring and tuning was the real PITA. Just dropped the tank today to find one bad fuel pump so I'm in the process of replacing it.

Thanks for all the compliments. I want to make it look the best that I can. I have done all the work by myself. What a PITA to align an engine and trans while trying to raise the trans, lower the engine, operate the cherry picker then bolt here and bolt there. All in all the efforts that I put into it make it more of a accomplishment. I have learned so much since this install and was a great experience. Would I do it again? Heck Yeah... any takers, just kidding. I can provide info if other people want to attempt to do this type of conversion. No write up as of yet but maybe later when I can get more time.

Might I inquire who embroidered your headrests? I have cobra seats in my car and was considering doing that exact setup or having the inserts redone with saleen in them. Your car looks great! Any plans to upgrade the terminator motor?? I hear it calling for a kenne. ;)

I had the headrest embroidered by a guy about 5yrs ago. I will see if I can find the info for you. I might upgrade to a Whipple from Ford Racing if more money comes my way but until then I will just have fun driving it like this.

Thanks for all the great compliments. Anyone notice the 05 steering wheel?

Yes I did, one of the first things I noticed. Does the airbag work? How did you adapt the hex wheel to fit the spline drive of the column. I was wanting to do this to my '98. Great work!!!

Yes the airbags does work, well it is hooked up...

With a little cutting and welding it will fit. I took my old wheel and had the brass insert welded into the new one after cutting the long hex stem off. I wish I would have taken pics.

Pretty much the best of both worlds, in my opinion. Cobra power and Saleen styling.

I wish I had $6000 laying around... ;)

Pretty tricky way to get a Saleen Cobra. :)

Which motor is that, exactly? I'm just curious. A couple years of hording cash/tax returns would pay for a FRPP motor....

It is a 03 Cobra Terminator w/T56 transmission. I'm suppose to be pushing 500Hp but will see when I get it dyno tuned after I fix the fuel pump problem.

I wish I was busier at work. Ebaying and looking at engines/parts is going to ruin my bank account if my willpower ever gives in.

So now that you've done the conversion....which hood are you using? I figure the supercharger snout would hit the saleen s/c hood, so my guess is a cobra hood.

Also...which clutch did you go with to upgrade?

If you had posted this about a year ago...I might have taken you up on the offer to do another conversion!

FUD - Yeah eBay is ruining my bank account also. I have purchased way to much stuff from there since I joined some years ago.

Eviligloo - I'm still using the Saleen heat extractor hood, plenty of room under there for the Cobra stuff. It came with a McLeod clutch that was already installed. I used the 03 Cobra engine and T56 w/aluminum drive shaft.

Not wanting to come off weird but just wondering if this car was converted by you from a GT? It looks very accurate but the engine bay plaque looks like one from an earlier year and like its engraved, also the shifter plaque is missing. It doesnt take anything away from the car at all,its beautifully done, I was just wondering for my own personal curiousity.

The swap was kind of easy just had to do some cutting, welding and wiring. It is a subtle change that the average person will not notice.

How is the gauge cluster with the 4V motor rpms wise? Also do your dash gauges read everything accurate? Guessing its boost and intercooler temps? love the thread, wish i could steal that 2V from ya. Have you always had magnaflow tips? on your rolling shot with the top up it looked like thicker rolled edges. thanks

The gauge cluster works like normal and all reads accurately as a analog gauge can except the speedometer which is about 10-15mph off.

My dash pod gauges work the same as on the 2V but are hooked to different places to get the same readings.

The engine and trans are for sale but I am selling them as a combo.

In the rolling shot I use to have the Chicane exhaust but since the Saleen Magnaflow center exhaust came available I swapped it out.

I noticed a big difference to. I was going to remove the quads but didn't know how much of a suspension performance gain I would get.

The rear sway bar is OEM, I just sanded and painted it to match the rest of the parts. I think it came out okay looking.

What gauges are in the pod? Also what gauge is on the steering column? Is the car running in the picture because two the gauges look out of sync?
