Default Reupholstered my 1987-89 Saleen FloFits - Photos

I just got my seats back from the local interior shop. I was surprised that he had the material in stock. It is not exactly like the original Saleen material, but since that is nearly impossible to locate I am pleased with the results. My seats were a total mess. The only thing the shop ended up using were the seat pans, and even those I had to get back from him and weld on a few nuts that broke off and I went ahead and reinforced the side bolsters since they were cracked and about to break off. The shop remade all new foam and I think they did a great job. If any of you guys would like some of the material let me know, I think he still has some left. He said it was old stock that he has had for awhile. I wanted to talk to the owner more about the material, but since it was Christmas he wasn't in the shop the last 2 times I was in.

Those look pretty close to the original. I would be interested in finding out the material name, pattern and color.

Seats look great! Your center material reminds me of the cloth use in 1985-86 Ford Mustang GTs and maybe some later Escort GTs (I believe). If this is the old Ford material, it is becoming scarce.

Did you recover the headrests as well?

Thanks for sharing.

I actually have a spare set of the 1985-86 Mustang GT seats and a rear seat too. I bought them to use in the Saleen until I could find some matching or similar material to recover the Saleen seats. Then the upholstery guy found this material so I went with it. Didn't even have a chance to put the seats in before he found the material. Now I don't need these seats anymore but here are some pics just to show you the difference of material. I did not recover the headrests, the upholstery guy told me he needed a special tool to recover them without harming the nets, so they are the original material still.

Ok, first I will see if the material can still be bought or ordered. If the shop in my little town can still get it than I'm sure any shop can still get it. If it can't be ordered than I will see what kind of price he wants per yard if several people are interested.

Thumbs up front seat material

I am very interested in finding the material for my 88 Saleen front seats, i really only need the drivers seat done but i will probably require enough for the passenger seat just for the match, any info you could pass my way would be great, i live in ontario canada so shipping would also be in the costs Thank You, Doug ( FOXIEE)

The updated seats look exactly like the reupholstered ones in my 88 that were redone in Washington state by the last owner. I will post pictures as soon as it stops raining in NJ.
