Missfire in 2002 s281 sc
My car is smoking white, and misifreing cylinder 4, dealership says its a fuel injector, ford discontinued carrying the correct fuel injector. I ordered a set of ford motorsports 30lbs injectors with the ev1 hookup. Does this sound like it could fix my problem? The dealership says theres no blown head gasket and the injectors staying open which is causing the smoke? Im lost, bought the car 10 days ago and been in the shop since!

30 lb injectors? I thought they were bigger than that. If you are planning any mods I would go with 42's. Otherwise, I am assuming your car has an engine light on and throwing a code for that cylinder. Without being there to look at it, you are going to have tust what they tell you or go get a second opinion. I never had an injector stick open, so I can't say for sure; however, I would have thought white smoke would be water, not excess fuel. I would expect like black smoke from excess fuel. Perhaps someone else can chime in that has had an injector stick open...

I originally had the car at a local garage and it was missing so they put a coil pack, plug, boot, and a fuel pump. They tried an injector but it wasnt a 30lb injector they got the injector from a parts store. So that was when i took it to the dealer who said they diagnosed it and that the head gasket and everything looked good besides that injector.

I second that. White smoke is coolant. Head gasket, intake gasket, cracked intake, etc. A fuel injector would not cause this condition at all. |
