Default "SLOLEEN" Turbo Build

Well guys I finally decided to go turbo on the SLOLEEN to see if I can make more power. Figured I'd try something different since I have already done several blower swaps on the car. Lol. I plan to pick up a used hellion kit from a buddy of mine in Beaumont this weekend. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated by posting pics of the progress.

Last picture I took with the blower on the car.

Blower was taken off last Friday along with the rest of the kit.

Sold the blower Sunday. Here is the entire kit getting ready to be delivered to it's new owner.

Lol thanks. As of right now I am waiting for the precision turbo I ordered to make it's way to me and also waiting on the parts I sent to get powdercoated to get done. Once I have those parts I can start putting it all together.

Looks like it will make significantly more power than what you took off!
Looking forward to your progress!
Good luck!

Finally got around and ordered my UPR Chromoly K-Member along with the UPR A-Arms.

I was running the AJE kit on the car but since I ended up going with the hellion kit I did not want to run into any issues and then have to hold off on the build till I ordered it so I just went ahead and ordered the UPR K-Member and A-Arms now to avoid problems with the install of the hellion kit.

Browsing through Craigslist last night I came across a set of 99-04 JBA shorty headers. I decided to buy them to replace the stock manifolds that came with my hellion kit. I doubt it'll make a huge difference but I'm sure it'll help some.

I love JBA's headers....they have always been the best IMO, when it comes to headers. Should be good for a few horsepower. It should make the car sound a lot meaner.

Are they coated?I would thing that you would want them ceramic caoted for the heat and for long term survivability.

Plenum, lower intake, and piping are done with powdercoating. I took the time to drop off my headers to get polydyn coated since it was right down the street from my guy that does my powdercoating.

I managed to pick up a set of Injector Dynamics ID1300's for the car. Figured I wouldn't want to risk maxing out the 80lb injectors I currently have and then not be able to reach the hp level I am shooting for.

Been a while since I've updated my thread but not until last weekend there really hasn't been much progress. Being that I have to be in Dallas next thursday the 31st of July to tune the car I think I need to hurry up and get the car put together. Lol

Last Saturday I took the time to remove my old AJE Racing K-member and replacing it with the new UPR k-member and a-arms.

Old K-Member off.

I went ahead and sent the JBA shorty headers to get polydyne coated. Here is the finished product.

New JBA Shorty Headers that I had polydybe coated are now installed.

While the k-member was off I removed the oil pan to tap in the fitting that will be used for the turbo.

Bulk head fitting installed.

Oil pan back in place.

K-Member and A-Arms install.

Some of the hot side being installed.

All the hot side is pretty much installed just need to install the whole intake setup and then mount the turbo.

As you can see in the picture, I had clearance issues with my Meziere HD electric water pump rubbing on the piping.

Went ahead and removed the electric water pump and replaced it with a new stock water pump.

Also had clearance issues with my stock fan so I replaced it with a universal fan that I picked up at a local Orielly. Looks a lot better and isn't anywhere near as big as the stock one.

Today I got a package in the mail that included my heat blanket and my Turbosmart blow off valve.

Intercooler is installed along with some of the cold side piping.

Forgot to mention that I picked up a set of Weld RTS 15x10 wheels for the rear with a set of Mickey Thompson ET Streets. I hope these help me put the power to the ground. Lol

All the hot side is now in place and ready to go.

Majority of the cold side is not in place as well. If all goes well I should be cranking up the car tomorrow to check for leaks.

My tuning appointment was set for July 31'st with Manny over at HPP in Lewisville, Tx. After working countless hours on the car this week I was barely able to get the car finished on time.

Finished product of the engine bay.

Strapped up on the dyno.

And the car is finally ready to hit the streets! ;)
