Yeah...I have a fuel rail recall and a front brake rotor recall. I suppose I will be stuck fixing this myself. Make a guy feel real proud to own this kind of vehicle!!!????

.....I just do not even know what to say.

How a company can take our money when we buy a vehicle, include a price for the warranty in the price of the vehicle.....and then not give us what we deserve. MJ is going to have their work cut out for them after this.

Saleen is officially dead. If they were not dead already, they just shot themselves, point lank.

What gets me is that these are SAFETY RECALLS. Legally I think they are responsible for the customer's safety of this high priced vehicle.

This is F****g ridiculous. How can they not honor safety recalls? I thought maybe my easy care ext warranty would cover this but nope. My extended warranty is useless till nov 2010. I wonder what saleen going under will do to the resale value of these vehicles?

Resale? LOL

What about current sales? You can pick up a $60k S331 for low 30s brand new now.

Those $60k Dan Gurney Editions are being sold new, off the showroom floor for high 30s.

Neither of which have warranties.

Did you check that with the Extended Warranty company? I didn't get around to calling mine yet or reading the fine print, but I plan on doing it - I kind of assumed like you, that the extended warranty won't kick in until the date the Saleen Warranty was supposed to end, but worth checking to be sure.

Heheh, when I bought my Saleen (S302E), I was put off by the 12-month warranty - now its a plus, my extended warranty will kick in in just another eight months!

Chris.

When I bought my Saleen, the three dealers I spoke with said extended warranties were not offered on Saleen models. Who knows though.

Is this your extended or Ford warranty? BTW, you can get your money back on extended warranties. It is prorated. You can even get your $$ back if you sell the vehicle.

Is this a plan that you purchased from the dealership? If they sold you an extended service plan that didn't cover your entire vehicle, I would raise a stink and get them to put you on a plan that *does* cover the entire vehicle.

I have my extended service plan through Fidelity Warrant Services, who specifically cover the Saleen parts. I just checked the docs, and it looks to me like I am covered right now - the plan started on the date I purchased the vehicle, and their exclusions are written such that, as long as a covered part or service is not covered by a manufacturer warranty, then it will be covered. As Saleen Inc. have terminated warranty coverage, my Fidelity Coverage should kick in straight away...

The dealership I purchased from (Frontier Ford, WA) didn't offer any extended warranties for Saleens, but they went to the trouble of signing up with Fidelity Warranty Services so that they could get me coverage. I haven't made any use of the coverage yet, so can't comment on how good they are - but I did get a couple of personal recommendations for the company, so fingers crossed...

Chris.

I just got ahold of my dealer and they informed me that I will be gettting my 3000 dollars refunded. Easy care is a 3rd party ins company.. I was covered but since saleen went tits up easy care will no longer warranty anything that saleen has touched.

Ouch! I hadn't considered that ESP providers might also drop Saleens. Well, I'm just going to keep quiet and keep my fingers crossed that Fidelity Warranty Services doesn't do the same...

Ebay, all day long. Dan Gurneys were listed for $39,990 buy it now.

S331s have been listed for $29-$34k

Mind, there are those that are listed higher. SOme S331s are still listed at $45k+ with a reserve on top of that and some crazy dealers are still charging over $60k for Dan Gurneys.

There are a ton of S331s listed right now. However, I only see one Gurney listed for $49k. I posted up two weeks ago when they were listed for $39k buy it now.

Galpin Ford in CA has the DG's for $39,XXX.XX. It's the only dealer to date that I've seen them publicly advertised this low.

Part of me wonders if dealer will just do the same thing they did with the leftover 2004 Saleens in 2005-06. Dump them at auction. See if any new Saleens show up at Joe's Used Cars over the summer.
