Default Miscellaneous observations: 2011-2014 S302

For 2011 Saleen Mustangs produced in Corona, CA it appears the original chassis specification was:
  • GT Premium
  • Electronics Package
  • Security Package
  • 3.55 Gears
  • HID Headlights

This was revised to:
  • GT Premium
  • Electronic Package
  • 3.73 Gears
2011 White Label models 11-016 and 11-040 may have been the only model year conversions built using a base GT. 11-040 may have the distinction of being the least expensive 2011 Saleen Mustang.

There is an estimated 50/50 split between the total number of Black Label models to feature Ford HID Headlamps versus not.

The most popular exterior color appears to be Ebony.

For 2012 Saleen Mustangs produced in Corona, CA it appears the most common chassis configuration from FMC was:
  • GT Premium
  • 3.73 Gears
Black Label 12-015 appears to be the lone 2012 to make use of the MJA 200MPH gauge cluster. This vehicle also features the MJA SALEEN door plates that light and silver font SALEEN logo calipers.

Black Label 12-016 may have been the first correctly branded BL Saleen from Corona, CA. Meaning exterior decals, center caps, exterior emblems, floor mats, and seat embroidery.

All 2012 Black Label models appear to use Mustang GT Premium package cars.

No 2012 conversions appear to have optional Ford HID Headlamps.

At least six conversions were constructed on base Mustang models.

2012 White Label models 12-012, 12-013, 12-016 may have the distinction of being the least expensive 2012 Saleen Mustangs.

The most popular exterior color appears to be Ebony.

For 2013 there does not appear to be a common specification of Ford equipment for Saleen conversion.

Black Label 13-011 featured Ford Accessory body color quarter window trim.

All US market, 2013 Black Label models appear to use Mustang GT Premium package cars. One base GT, S302 Black Label S/C was produced for export (this could be the first no-option BL S/C produced).

White Label 13-013 was produced on a well equipped California Special**.

For 2013 there may not be a base, no option car.

The most popular exterior color appears to be Ebony.
~~~~~~~
**California Special
In 2013 and 2014 Saleen may have produced and estimated three to five S302 models using California Special Editions. Their exterior colors may included the following: Race Red, Black, Sterling Grey.
For 2014 there does not appear to be a common specification of Ford equipment for Saleen conversion.
2014 Black Labels 14-012, 14-013 and 14-014 were built using base Mustang GT coupes. These appear to be the first, non-Premium, US market, Black Label Editions.
14-014 features the least amount of Ford equipment making it the least optioned S302 Supercharged Black Label produced for US consumption to date.
The most popular exterior color appears to be Ebony.
The most popular 2011-2014 Mustang Saleen Custom Color, to date, may be ChromeMolly. With three possible production cars.
My 2011 didn't come with HID's and had the 3.73's from Ford.
In addition, your car is a Premium GT with the Electronics Package. Also something I did not mention, the "Wing Delete" option from FMC was a prominent feature in 2011 for Saleen conversion.
2011 S302 Yellow Label coupe 11-018 "might" have been the first Saleen Mustang 302 shipped to a dealer with a supercharger.
2011 S302 Black Label coupe 11-039 "might" have been the first Black Label 302 shipped to a dealer with a supercharger.
11-007 (sometimes called 12-007) is a Black Label S/C coupe updated with 2013-14 tail lamps. Features an automatic transmission and ChromeMolly custom paint. Car was auctioned during the 2012 Sturgis Mustang Rally.
11-003 S302 White Label was noted as a Steve Saleen demonstrator. Vehicle was shown around the country in 2011 to promote "Label" cars. Vehicle was updated to Saleen exterior dress for Fab Fords Forever 2012 and shorty after sold to a private party. Car currently lives in Florida.
This may be 11-035 S302 Black Label. I believe this was a customer car that spent time at Saleen Corona. (I could be mistaken.)
Here is a Grabber Blue 2012 (or 2011) in disassembly with 2014 models (and possible 2013s). There may not be an exact science to model year conversions. Expect cars to overlap.
A 2011 or 2012 S302 Black Label on display during Fab Fords Forever 2013. Not sure if this is 11-007. The Jacobson sticker might equal Sturgis, SD.
11-032. Born an SMS302 4-Valve. Inventoried at Villa Ford for almost two years(?). Remanufactured by Saleen to an S302 Black Label S/C (or SSC). Vehicle displays a rare, early, thoughtful, branding conversion from SMS to Saleen
12-008 S302 Black Label 4-Valve appears to be the first 2011-2014 Speedster. Vehicle featured a traditional Saleen tonneau with a CDC light bar.
12-008 is a custom paint Lizstick with designer color match calipers. Car was once mentioned to feature a JDM prepared 302 engine.
Vehicle was updated with exterior Saleen branding and 2013-2014 tail lamps.
11-030 is a Black Label 4-Valve coupe built on a Premium GT with an automatic transmission. No electronics package. Vehicle became a "Crazy Horse" promotional edition used for the 2011 Sturgis Mustang Rally.
Car was auctioned in South Dakota during the event.
(You can see 11-003 S302 White Label in the background under the tent.)
Dave your right about 12-012,013. I have 013 and saw 012 at the same time they were priced 3k under the Boss302 in the show room and almost 6k under the top boss on the floor.
Yes that is your car Jim. The guy in the red shirt and tie used to work for heller ford. They brought that car up shortly after they took delivery of it to display at last years saleen show. It got a lot of looks as I was parked right next to it. Heller ford also brought a black 2014 black label with the bumper number 14-012 that sold to a guy from Mexico and a GHIG 2014 Yellow label that they still haven't sold.
The car above is a 2011 or 2012 chassis. Jim stated there is a Grabber Blue 2011 S302 White Label coupe being used as a mule for the GF series. This car may have been seen on the race track during the Mustang 50th Anniversary event in NC.
Typically no. On rare occasions, if the vehicle is a special order and/or if the purchaser requests, build photos may be taken.
Greg Wackett owns a special order 1989 Saleen coupe with build photos. Betsy's 2007 Speedster also had build photos.
The "new" 2011 Grabber Blue White Label mule car may have been assembled recently. Meaning not produced during 2010 or 2011, but in 2013 or 2014.
This is probably the 2011-ish demo convertible. Post Saleen sale.
It may appear the production 2014 GF Edition did not receive the redesigned bumper cover and licenses plate relocation to the trunk lid.
12-012 302 Yellow Label is running a Kenne Bell.
This makes two known 2012 Saleen Mustangs with KB systems. One 302 BL convertible and one 302 YL coupe.
