Default Found: "SALEEN" Sterling Edition Shift Bezels
I found these at Action Automotive Accessories (the SS inserts company). They must have bought all of them for $30 each from the liquidation on ebay, and are now selling them for $90.

It sucks that I missed the liquidation, but that is the price of playing I guess. I got mine...get yours before they are gone. I think there are only 10 or so left.

Daytona,

My only reservation on these pieces is that they move around on the console. Now I've only been in 2 cars I think that had them, but they both exhibited the same annoying issue. Can you mount it somehow?

Yes, it is suppose to be mounted by 3M double sided tape to the console. My last one was made by the same company that makes the Saleen ones, and it did not move at all.

The only thing I can imagine that is happening on the ones you have seen is that there is no tape on them, they are just resting on the console.

That makes sense. I just know that every time I shifted the dayum thing kept moving around. They are GREAT looking pieces too!

Yes, I ordered it because I originally wanted the Saleen one. I got the Bullitt one because I thought the Saleen one was unavailable. I will see which one I like best, and sell the other on the forum I guess.

I have the "SALEEN" shift bezel as well, I love that fact it's a limited edition piece too. I can't believe you found this, and there are still some left!!
FYI, mine came with pre-mounted 3M double sided tape. This thing hasn't moved at all. It's not going anywhere. It's a solid piece.

I think I recall seeing that picture as well. You could always get it, and if it doesn't fit just sell it to someone on the forum.

Good I'm glad to hear you agree with me about the picture, I'm not crazy!

I really don't see why this bezel wouldn't work as long as you removed the stock one.

I did not know there was black aluminum. I do not know how the Dark Horse trim part color was executed.

More than likely, it is made from billet aluminum and then anodized black. I am pretty sure that is how the red ones were done too.

Yes, I said that. I like how the Bullitt one flows with the console. I originally wanted the Saleen one, but could not find it. I am getting over the Saleen one not being as visually pleasing because it says "SALEEN" on it, and the Bullitt one does not, LOL. I want to the exclusivity of having a Saleen Sterling Edition Bezel. If I do not like it as much as the Bullitt one, I will sell it. I have also thought about having the Saleen bezel anodized black to match Barricade's.

Its not hard. It is a threaded shift lever with the knob on top. Simply unscrew and remove.

Thanks for the hot tip, Daytona...I snagged two of them. I'm in the process of modifying one of the pieces right now.

Not all of them...Saleen pressed many of the stock knobs on; mine was one of them. It was torture to remove!

So mine is a 06 shortly after Daytona in the production numbers, just went out to the garage and tried to untwist the knob. Is seem pretty stuck on there. Now I didnt go full force on it, since I don't want to damage anything, but should I assume I have the pressed on shift knob over the groved, twist on twist off style? And if that's the case how the hell have you guys been getting the pressed ones off?

The knobs have thread lock on them from Saleen during the conversion. Don't be afraid to untwist the knob. I am not aware of the mentioned "press knob."

p.s. The original owner of the Saleen Daytona1783 owns had a heck of a time removing the OE knob. I believe he used a rag and Channellocks (or some similar method).

That was my method of removal plus a buddy.

I had placed a call to Saleen in Irvine prior to removal. This was early 2007. They told me it was pressed on. They were correct. Upon removal, there were no threads on the shifter.

And what about when you put the knob back on? Did you put anything on the shifter to make it snug with the knob back on it?

My knob is threaded-I replaced it with another knob and just screwed it right on. I didnt use thread lock or anything to make it tight.

I never put it back on, I switched over to a threaded piece & installed a Momo knob from Saleen. I eventually swapped out to a TR 6060 & now bang the gears with a KR lever & knob.

Juat unscrew it Chris...most have locktite on them. lefty loosie.

The Extremes was tight as hell but they unscrew and come right off.

Go full force....it will unscrew. Ill unscrew it for a hamburger.

Mine was fairly easy to remove. I just grabbed it tight with both hands and twisted. But I have also heard of people using the rag and plier method.....

LOL - That's what I am thinking !!! I am way stronger than Barricade ( no offense - LOL ) and that thing does not even budge !!! I was thinking just getting some channel locks and going to town like you did on it and then just replace it with another one.
